under no' obligation to assume the road.

•'Check with the township solicitor for an opi-
nion on the matter.
The purchase of a new disk mower and
several, shop tools and a 3,000 gallon water

In reply to the letter of Fay Hacon in the
„December 26th issue of the Signal -Star, I
wish to make the following comments.
She in-Fotreet in stating that these lines
did op -Oar in pur advertisements at the
Park Theatre. This is done to inform people
of the types° of movies and content that are
showing at the -Park Theatre. This is done so
that -one can make an informed decition
Wheher to atteridor not, in accordance with
the -Theatres Act Of Ontario.
Why aren't video rental shops and local
t.v. stations following the same practices?
For example, a person can rent a video from
a local, shop to be shown to a group of nine-
year -olds (not knowing the content) which
turns out to be subject unsuitable for- thia" -
age group. Nine -year-olds could not see this.
• movie at our -local theatre because of the
classification which was advertit ed in the
local newspapers: '
Maybe Mrs. Hacon's comments should be
directed to the local video shop operators
and her members off parliament, both pro-
• vincial and federal, to see that t.v. and Video
shop operators have tofollow the same tight
restrictions required by law as the local
theatre. •
• Sincerely,
Allan Fulker,
Managerof
The Park Theatre
ANT TO APPEAL
YOUR ASSESSMENT?
You still have timp to appeal your 1984 assessment if you feel
your home or business property has been improperly assessed.
Your assessment is important beCause the amount of Property -
tax you pay depends on it, .in that the assessed value of your
property is multiplied byyour municipal and school mill rate to
determine your 1985 proPerty taxes.
Notices of Assessment have been mailed to property owners and
tenants whose assessmerp have changed since last year. Open
houses have been held in -your area to answer questions and
amend assessment information if necessary. Open house dates
and locations were announced in a previous advertisement.
• The Assessment Roll has now been' delivered tb-your municipal-
ity for the purposes of calculating the amount of taxes you must
pay on your property in 1985. For information on your assess-
• ment,. the Assessment Roll is now available for review at your
Municipal Office during regular business hburs: If you feet your
property has been improperly assessed, and you have not yet
made your appeal known, you still have until January 8, 1985 to
deliver or mail an apPeal to the Assessment Review Board. And
remember, even if you did not receive'a Notice of Assessment,
you still have the right to appeal.
• Appeal deadline—January 8,1985
The Assessment Review Board is an impartial body reporting to
the Attorney General of Ontario, which provides you with an
additional opportunity to have your assessment reviewed if; in
Our opinion, it is. not fair "and equitable with similar properties in
• your area. The Review Board is more informal and relaxed than a
• regular court of law. You may present Our own case, retain a
• lawyer or ask a felative or friend to speak as your agent.
To help you in filing your appeal, Notice ofAppeal forms are
available from the -Assessment Review Board, ,your Regional,
Assessment Office or your Municipal Office. As wpil, you can use
the reverse side of a Notice of Assessment or write a letter stating
the property address and roll number, together with your reasons
far appealing. Appeals should be forwarded to the Regional Reg-
•istrar of the Assessment Review Board listed below.
