Goderich woman dies at 69
FLORENCEISABEL
ABERHART
Florence Isabel Aberhart of 85 Comox
Crescent, Goderich, died in Alexandra
Marine and General Hospital on Thursday,
December 15 at the age of 69.
She was born in British Columbia on
February 15, 1914 to George and Nettie
(Rutledge) Paterson.
The late Mrs. Aberhart was a housewife
and a member of North Street United
Church in Goderich. She had also been a
member of the Maple Leaf Chapter IODE
for over 50 years.
She married Donald C. Aberhart in
Goderich on March 28, 1959. He survives
her.
Also surviving are two stepchildren, John
of Strewsbury, Massachusets and Donna of
Hamilton.
She was predeceased by two sisters,
Martha Lewens in 1957 and Jean Boyer in
1970.
A funeral service and committal were
held at Stiles Funeral Home in Goderich on
Saturday, December 17 at 2 p.m. The
Reverend Robert O. Ball of North Street
United Church officiated.
Interment was in Colborne Cemetery.
MRS. ALiCE WAGLER
Mis. Alice Wagler of R.R. 6 Goderich died
OSITUARIFS
in University Hospital, London on Tuesday,
December 13 at the age of 61.
She was born in Wilmot Township on
August 17, 1922 to Peter and Katie (Bren-
neman) Schwartzentruber.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth
Wagler; eight children, Peter of Goderich,
Joyce of Toronto, James of Waterloo, Mrs.
Paul ( Marilyn) Woolner of Kitchener, Susan
of Toronto, John of Whitby, Tom of Kit-
chener and Betty of Waterloo; two brothers,
Ernie Schwartzentruber of Hickson and
Stanley Schwartzentruber of Kitchener; and
three grandchildren, Kathy -Jo, John and
Ronald Wagler.
A funeral service was held at McCallum
Funeral Home in Goderich on Friday,
December 16 at 2 p.m. The Reverend Robert
Roberts of Nile United Church officiated. He
was assisted by the Reverend Douglas Zehr
of Brussels Mennonite Church.
Pallbearers were ' Leonard Sch-
wartzentruber, Larry Schwartzentruber,
Harold Schwartzentruber, Robert Licht',
Dennis Lichti and John Lee.
Interment Was in Colborne Cemetery.
UCW elects new officers
Donnybrook U.C.W. held their December
meeting Monday evening December 12 at
the home of Mrs. H. Jefferson.
Mrs. William Hardy opened the meeting
with a prayer followed by a hymn. The
scripture was taken from Christmas Ideals,
"The Christmas Story." Another hymn was
sung followed by a poem, "Advent Candle",
read by Ruth Hardy. "Hark the Herald
Angels Sing" was followed with a
"Christmas prayer". Mrs. Murray Wilson
gave a reading on "Giving". Joan Arm-
