Knox WMSjnstalis
new slate of officers
Knox Presbyterian Church WMS After-
noon Auxiliary's December meeting on
Tuesday, December 13 started with a
delicious pot luck luncheon in the church
Sunday school room with an attendance of
over 30 members. The Reverend G.L. Royal
offered the Grace and everyone did justice
to the delicious food.
After the meal, the president, Mrs.
Gordon Henderson, read an article on the
using of the abreviation "Xmas" for
Christmas.
Members joined in singing "0 Come All
Ye Faithful" and minutes off the last
meeting were read by the secretary, Miss
Mildred Marwick. It was noted that a Life
Membership Certificate had been presented
to Mrs. R. McAllister at the November
meeting.
Mrs. Ora McCallum conducted the
devotions with Mrs. G. Kaittmg reading the
scripture from Luke 2, 1-20. Mrs. McCallum
spoke on "Peace" and her prayer today is
that we will have peace in our hearts. This
was followed with prayer by Mrs.
McAllister.
The offering was received by Mrs. G.G.
MacEwan and dedicated by the president.
The guest speaker was Mrs. Edna Pollock
with the stirring topic, "Did you put Santa
Claus before the Christ Child?". It was a
beautiful message and contained much food
for thought.
A special thanks was extended to Mrs.
Pollock for her thrilling message.
Mrs. O. Falkiner, corresponding
secretary, read a letter from Jean Croft
from Florida and from Mrs. Helen
MacPhee.
Mrs. A. Straiton gave her report on the
special fund and the secretary gave her
annual report which was very encouraging.
Several items of business were attended
to, including an In Memorium for Anne
McDonald. It was decided to give the
Mission Band their study book for next year.
Several other matters were also discussed,
such as the making of Teddy bears.
Best wishes and
our sincere
gratitude for a
cheer -filled ,
holiday season.

The president expressed her thanks to
everyone for their support during the last
three years. She appreciated the interest off
the members and their co-operation in all
efforts. _
Mrs. Bertha Sanderson read the
nominating committee report and the of-
ficers for 1984 were installed by the
Reverend G.L. Royal who first com-
plimented the members on reaching their
allocation for 1983 and for their interest and
special efforts during the year. Mr. Royal
spoke highly of the president and
congratulated her on her three years of
active service as president.
Mrs. R. McAllister took the chair as
president and asked for the support of the
members.
The Presbyterial meeting will be January
17 in Knox Presbyterian Church, Stratford
and as this will conflict with the monthly
meeting, the WMS will change its meeting in
January and have it on Tuesday, January
24.
