They don't have to be photography experts to enjoy instant picture taking. Polaroid has a camera that's perfect for the beginning snapshooter or the sophisticated photographer, at prices to fit every pocketbook. Wrap as you buy. Don't gift wrap on Christmas Eve m that's the time you'll want to put your feet up before the busy day. Before you wrap, take an instant picture of each gift, date it, and note who it's for. Having pictures on hand will help you avoid duplicate gifts next year, and trigger creative ideas for future presents. Wrap the children's gifts first to keep them safe from prying eyes and invite them to help wrap other family presents. Even your children can do creative, personalized packaging. Display the decorated packages to add to the festive atmosphere. Consider using an instant picture as the package tag or card, or as a hint to what's in the boa. Find pleasure in giving. Thoughtful at- tention to your gift selections pays off in the heartfelt pleasure and enthusiasm of the recipient. Let the children in your household decide on the "perfect" gift for Mom, Dad, or grandparents. Involving the children helps them experience the special pleasure in giving a gift. What better way to capture the holiday spirit? Take time for fun. Schedule Christmas dinner to allow for sit down time with family and friends. Set aside time to let the children demonstrate their new toys. Enjoy a look at the gift book or sing a carol around the piano. An instant camera will add to the fun of the moment and provide a lasting record of the day's events. Let the children join in on the fun by taking their own pictures to show off. Display Photos Share the holiday spirit. Remember old friends and faraway relatives with a special holiday note and an instant picture of the family. Personalize thank you notes by including pictures of the gift being un- wrapped. Or take shots of the children on their new sled or in their new sweaters to accompany their post Christmas notes. Collect the fun shots you took on Christmas day, date them, and put them in an album. Jewelry makes a unique gift Want to give something unique to those special people on your list? How about elegant, handmade jewelry? You don't need fancy skills or expensive materials. All you need are some wood or plastic bangles and beads plus a few colors of Kry?on spray paint. And what you'll get, besides delighted "ohs" and "ahs", is a new craft that you can practice anytime, in dozens of ways! It's called "Dunk -It", and it's a wonderful way to create marbleized effects on almost any material—glass, metal, china, even paper! Here's all you do: Fill a pail of water to within two inches of the brim. Spray two or three Krylon colors on the surface, one right after the other, so that they just touch or slightly overlap. Quickly dip your object down through the paint; hold underwater a few seconds till the surface paint forms a skin; push this aside and withdraw your object, and that's "Dunk It!" Helpful Tips 1. Prepare object by cleaning it so that paint will adhere smoothly. Spray with a base coat in white or a color. 2. Attach a stick or strong thread to object for dipping. 3. If any air bubbles appear on the dunked item, you can pat them away with a paper towel. 4. When item is compeltely dry, give it the finish with two or three light coats of Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic, which will bring out the color and add a soft sheen.
