Roy was born in London and during WWII he served in the RCAF. On being discharged from the service, he accepted a position with the Department of Lands and Forests in 1949. The main office was in Hespeler and Roy and his wife Bessie took up residence in Clinton. Fourteen years ago, the main office was built in Wingham and the Bellingers moved to Goderich. Eleven years ago they built a home in Port Albert. Roy will spend more time hunting, fishing and trapping now. As a memento of his 34 years with the Ministry of Natural Resources, chairman Bill Creighton presented Roy with a 30.06 rifle. Dan Mansell, former manager of the Wingham Office, presented Bessie Bellinger with a genuine wildlife painting. Mike and Janet Bellinger and daughter Lindsay from Lancaster; Ken and Nancy Doherty and son Evan from Timmins; Terry and Susan Worsell from Goderich and Paul and Mark Bellinger were all able to be. in attendance for this happy occasion in the life of their parents. Church News _..' Christ Church in Port Albert used the new `Ecumenical Lectionary' for the first Sunday of Advent Service last Sunday. Communion was served by the Reverend Robert Crocker using the modern service. It was announced that St. George's choir and organist would be a part of the Christmas Carol Service at Christ Church on December 18 at 2 p.m. A supper will follow, served by the ACW. Fishing Fishing in the Nine Mile River in the village draws fishermen from distant points. Morris Mathers from Brantford makes frequent visits to Port Albert. Jonas Rimeikis from London caught three nice Rainbow Saturday morning weighing 10 pounds, seven pounds and three pounds. Paul Baler from Stratford caught a three pound Rainbow Saturday morning. Also from Stratford was Steve Dawn who caught a three pound Rainbow. Elton Draper of Port Albert caught three Rainbow Tuesday. History Facts In the early days at the Kingsbridge School, children in the lower grades went to school only from spring to fall. The order was reversed in the winter when boys, young men in fact, anxious for more lear- ning, swelled the senior class to 40 or more out of a total of 150 pupils. Of these, the name Dalton was heard 33 times a day during roll call over a certain period of years. The first teachers in the Separate School at Kingsbridge were Misses Mabel Megan of Stratford and Anna Dalton. John Hannett, whose parents lived near Dungannon, was the first young man to become a priest. The first Old Boys Reunion of the Kingsbridge Parish was held in 1927.
