Goderich Sykes) Goderich Pee Wees break home ice jinx The Goderich Lions PeeWees finally had some pucks go in the opposition net while playing on home ice as they dumped the fast improving Parkhill PeeWees 10-2 last Satur- day. Our locals have been playing pretty good on home ice this year, but they ran into bad luck around the opposition net which had lost them some hockey games. So Satur- day's contest was an encouraging sign. All three units of the Lions figured into the scoring which is a good sign also. The unit of Tim Harrison, Shawn Talbot, Brian Lane, Andre Cauchi, and Jason Million led the points parade with Harrison getting three goals, one assist, Langone goal, two assists, Talbot two assists and defencemen Cauchi and Million two assists each. Next, was the unit of George Sideris, Greg Alcock, Gregg Alcock, Jeff Boyce and Lonnie Rumig. Sideris had two goals, one assist, Alcock one goal, one assist, DeWinter one assist, Boyce a goal and Rumig one assist. The Unit of Jason Creamer, Chris O'Neill, Jeff Hodges, Jason Pearson and Rob Dempsey also figures in the scoring as O'Neill and Hodges had single goals each with Creamer, Demp- sey and Pearson gaining an assist each. Pat Donnelly went all the way in the Lions net, making tough saves, especially in the third period. The Lions will be trying to keep the momentum going this week as they will play at home tonight against Strathroy and on Saturday Exeter will be the visitors instead of St. Marys. reen Machin Plenty of offensive action was witnessed by those who took hi Recreation hockey action on November 7. The first period of the Parkhill game was scoreless but with only seven minutes left to play in the second period, Parkhill scored two -quick goals to enter the third period with a 2-0 lead. Goderich didn't waste anytime getting on the scoreboard in the third when Andrew Scott scored with the assists going to Jeff Rau and Bryan Hodges. Less than two minutes later Jeff Rau netted one with Bryan Hodges picking up his second assist of the evening and Andrew Scott adding an assist to his points. However, Goderich could not hold on to the tie as Parkhill scored three more goals to take the game 5-2. Goderich travelled to Lucan last Saturday only to fall to a 8-2 defeat. The last meetirng these two teams had was a 5-3 victory for Lucan. Lucan scored four first period goals in a three minute time span, leaving Goderich the task of playing catch -on hockey. The second period was scoreless for both teams. It took less than one minute for Lucan to get their marksmen going again in the third, scoring three goals before the half way mark. Goderich's Jason Hayter finally put his team on the board with the assists given to Jason Meriam and Mike McBride. Lucan netted one more before Hayter could get his second of the night. This time McBride and Bryan Lamb earned the assists. The novice's next game will be on home ice against St. Marys on December 3. Bantams even the score with Parkhill BY C.B. Goderich's second goal came in the second period by Scott Garrow assisted by Mark Burbine and Rod Nurse. In the third period Larry Leppington scored his first goal of the season, although he has come close on many occasions. The assists went to Mark Burbine and Ian MacKinnon. Parkhill scored about a minute later to ruin Greg Townsend's shutout. The next game is this Wednesday night at 8:15 p.m. when the team will host Strathroy. The boys have been defeated by scores of 3 - 2, and 4 - 2 on their previous encounters in the Strathroy arena. Goderich should be able to gain a measure of revenge if they can reduce their penalties pass the puck around, and do some aggressive forechecking.
