HOI4MESVILLE - The ladies choir par•
ticipated in the Ministry of Music in
Holnaesvllle United Church on Sunday mor-
ning. Rev. Bechtel congratulated Sheri
Lobb as he presented her with the Religion
and Life Award in connection with Brownies
and Guides.
Nov.. 25 The Angels practice will be held
after school until 5:15 p.m. November 26
Angels dress rehearsal will be held at 1 p.m.
The Enterprising Seniors met in the Com-
munity Centre, �Hohnesville last Thursday
with a good attendance. The Seniors decided
on Dec. 1 for their pot luck dinner to be held
in the Community Centre at 12:30. Everyone
is asked to bring their favorite foods.
The Women's Institute will again be spon-
soring Card Parties in the Community Cen-
tre, Holmesville. The first one will be held
on Nov. 24 at 8 p.m. Ladies please bring lun-
ch. Next one to be December 8 at 8 p.m.
The November meeting of the Goderich
Township Women's Institute (WI) was held
Nov. 14 at the Community Centre. The presi-
dent opened the meeting and welcomed the
large turnout of guests from the surroun-
ding Women's Institutes.
Mrs. Roberta Templeman from Staffa,
the Board Director for the District was
guest speaker. She gave a very interesting
talk on the make-up of Women's Institute
and its purpo es iq these modern times. •
Lois Elliott from the Clinton WI presented
her slides taken at ACWW (a world wide
conference) held in Vancouver last June.
Her narration made everyone feel that this
was a very special event.
Eleanor Bradnock from the Auburn WI '
brought along and played her tape recor-
ding of the choir at the ACWC conference in
Vancouver, made up of 100 women from
across Canada.
The next meeting "Christmas, Crafts
Coffee & Cookies" will be held on Dec. 12, at
8 p.m. Knitted squares are needed to Com-
plete lap robes for Huronview before
Christmas. Bring your knitting problem and
a friend and enjoy a good night atm.

Amber LeBeau of Colborne Central School reviews her family studies project with teacher
Mrs. Bruinsma, picked as the top•class project among grades 7 and 8 students in four area
school. The students, as part of the family studies course, were asked to redesign and
redecorate their bedrooms and the submissions were judged over the summer. Christine

Students name lake
Maitland Valley Conservation held a con-
test for the grade 8 classes of Brookside in
which they were to name a lake purchased
by the. _conservation. Mark McConnell won
first prize with his entry of Birch Lake. Jean
McWhinney was second with Lake of the
Woods and Barry Nivins and Kevin Black
came in third with West Wavvanosh Lake
and Lake West Wawanosh.
Mrs. Tebbutt's class is doing an experi-
ment qn seeds.
'Mr. Ecrington's class is doing Bar Graphs.
Mrs. Blanchette's class did a pet book and
are also learning how to count money.
Mrs. Wiorsell's class was glad to get a
letter from Penny Holmes, a former student
of the class.
Intramural hockey started last week.
Kirk's Killers played against Willie's
Whompers. Kirk's Killers won 4 to 1.
On November 14 Mr. McCall, the
superintendant of curriculum for Huron
County visited Brookside and spoke to the
staff about Language Arts Curriculum.
On November 15, Ralph Morrison came to
the school and spoke to the grade 7 and 8
classes about his job working at the Lucknow
Co-op and his university experience.
Mr. Liddle attended a conference on Kids
'and Curriculum on Thursday and Friday.
Mr. Vito Stecca supplied for him.
Senior Volleyball Teams went to Goderich
on Saturday for a regional volleyball
tournament.
