Chief King said there were 28 criminal offences related to Halloween in 1973 and only two this year. He said the addition of two officers to the force during this time, the use of auxiliary constables and CBers on Halloween night and a Halloween dance staged by the recreation department have all helped to reduce the amount of crime on Halloween. In other business, the police commission accepted accounts of $43,086 for September and $30,878 for October. The commission also agreed to budget for a new photo copier for the police station in 1984, accepting a quote from Skeoch Business Equipment Limited of Goderich for $1897. Several members of the Goderich com- mission will attend the Municipal Police Authorities Zone 6 meeting December 7. The local commission has decided to stay with Zone 6 as opposed to moving into Zone 5 because it feels more benefits will be derived from this first zone.
