Senior ringette team increases record to 3-0 The Goderich Senior Ringette team gave_ the first year Blyth team a real workout as they defeated the beginners 19.0 last Sunday in Goderich. It took less than two minutes for Goderich to start scoring and they totalled 12, goals in the first period. Goal scorers for Goderich were Lisa Kisch with four, Allison Graham with six, Vicky Vanderburgh with three, Angie Chisholm and Debbie Mitchehnore two each, and Leslie Rean and Angie Alcock each netted one. Junior action For the juniors it was a different story as they were defeated 15-5 by Mount Forest, bringing their record to 0-3. Mount Forest opened the scoring with two quick goals but Goderich came back with one of their own when Deb O'Brien netted a goal for her team. Mount Forest then increased their lead by one, and, once ager Goderich came bads with a goal lay Tammy Talbot. Mount Forest then netted three shots, making the score 6- 2. Goderich scored two more goals before the period was over, but Mount Forest managed to add another four to their six, bringing the period to an end with a 10-3 lead. The Goderich goals were scored by O'Brien with her second of the night, and Deb Habel. The final period was all Mount Forest as they netted another five and Goderich's O'Brien chalked up her third of the game. Petite Houseleague The Petite Houseleague played their first game of the season on Monday with Team 2 defeating Team 1 by a score of 6-2. Paula Vanderburh, Tara Haylow and Naja Davidson scored one apiece for Team 2 while Trish Rumig picked up three goals. Team 1's lone goal scorer *as Angela Harrison with two. Miller wins five games The chess club enjoyed its busiest night of the season last Wednesday. Twenty-five games were played by 17 people. Bill Gauley had a busy night, winning three games and losing two. Brian Miller assumed a familiar role in level one by winning five games, Louis Stadelmann remained undefeated with two wins. Doug Brindley picked up three wins to maintain his level one pace. Walter Gottschalk and John Kloeze played a long, difficult game which Walter won. Two of our new, young members, Robert Nare and John Crawford split a pair of games. Don Bogie, the fastest player in the club had two wins and five losses. Mark Maurer had two wins to maintain his top position in level two. Les Wilhems and George Barwick played a very close game with Les earning the eventual checkmate. Shirley will be takingiup residence in the Oshawa area at the end of November. Taking over as president will be Vice - President Alice Huyck who will also be Test Chairmen. At -'the Suncoast Mall, the Precision Team will be hosting a bake sale and the club will have a table set up at the Knights of Columbus Flea Market. Later that evening the club will hold its annual dance at the areana. The theme this year is "Hard Times." Goderich Bridge Club The quarterly Goderich Duplicate Bridge Club championship game was held on November 8 with nine tables in play. Betty and Ray Fisher, leaders in the East-West division, tied with Mary Donnelly and Eleanor Erskine, leaders in the North-South division, for first place overall. They each had 131 points, with the average score for the night being 108. Evelyn Galbraith and Dawna Sproule were second in the East-West with 1221/z.
