Playhouse draw
winners named

Winner of the "South Pacific" draw
sponsored by the Huron Country Playhouse
and held on Saturday, September 10 im-
mediately following the Playhouse's final
performance for 1983, was James Keith of
Woodstock. Mr. Keith received return air
fare from Toronto to Hawaii via CP Air's
non-stop service. '
The Playhouse's "Subscriber Lucky
Draw" was also held September 10 with
Arnold McCann of Dashwood winning two
subscriptions to the 1984 main stage season.

DARLENE MARIE MOORE
Bill and Alberta Moore are pleased to
announce the graduation of their daughter,
Darlene Marie, from the Business Data
Processing course at Panshawe College,
London. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and
Mrs. William Moore Sr. of Goderich and Mr.
and Mrs. Albert Govier of Oshawa.
Darlene has accepted a position at
Champion Road Machinery.
DAVID BEST
David Best, son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
Best of Stratford, formerly of Goderich,
received his Bachelor of Mathematics
(General Co -Op) degree at the recent
convocation of the University of Waterloo.
David is employed as a computer
programmer at General Motors in Oshawa.
WI hears
about cargo
boat trip
The November meeting of the Goderich
Branch of the Women's Institute opened
with the Institute Ode and the repeating of
the Mary Stewart Collect with the
president , Mrs. Helen Marley presiding.
The roll call was answered by each
member telling of an article purchased at
the grocery store that was not necessary.
Sixteen members were present.
Elizabeth Sitter, secretary -treasurer,
read her report. All bills were voted to be
paid.
A letter from the Goderich Recreation
Department asked the Institute to report
any activity that it was doing that could be
reported in, "Things to do in Goxlerich".
A request from the Goderich Township
Recreation Department for help in buying
new equipment for the children's
playground was tabled.
An invitation from the Goderich Township
Women's Institute to attend a meeting on
November 14, was accepted as a number of
members wished to attend.
The Poppy Fund appeal from the Royal
Canadian Legion was received. A donation
was voted for that fund for November 11.
A picture of Adelaide Hoodless, founder of
the Women's Institute, was donated to the
society. It was decided to have an easel
made to display the picture at each of our
meetings in the future.
The president had attended a summary
course on rug braiding, and showed a
sample of the work and hoped some of the
members would be interested.
A poem was read by Margaret McKenzie
entitled, "The Pursuit of Happiness."
An account of an interesting trip taken on
a cargo boat, the "V.W. Scully", recently
through the Great bakes was given by Jean
Cook.
An auction sale conducted by Erma
Anderson netted the Institute $22.26.
The meeting closed with 0 Canada and the
Institute grace. Lunch was served by Anna
Blundell and her committee.
The nest meeting an December 1. The roll
call will be answered by naming a doctor or
nurse you remember from your youth.
