Novices winless
The Goderich Novices are 0-4 for the
season after they lost to Exeter 5-4 on
Saturday on home ice.
Exeter took a quick two goal lead in the
first period but Goderich came back with
one goal by Drew Macauley to bring the
score within one. Exeter regained their two
goal lead when they put the puck behind
goaltender Chris Lyndon with only two
seconds remaining in the period.
David Boyce scored the only goal in the
second period when he took a pass from
Donald Rivers to make the score 3-2 in favor
of Exeter.
In the third period the two teams ex-
changed turns scoring, with Exeter striking
first and Bryan Hodges netting one for
Goderich. Exeter responded with one more
goal and then Goderich's Andrew Scott
scored to make the final score 5-4 tor the
visiting team.
Plan expansion
EXETER - An $8-m,llion to $10 -million
pre-treatment addition to the Lake Huron
water treatment plant north of Grand Bend
could start next year, providing there are no
major hitches, environment ministry of-
ficials said Friday.
When the new system comes on line, the
average household should feel a cost in-
crease of about three percent, they said.
Plant superintendent Bill Sturdevant said
he didn't expect the proposal to go to con-
tract before next year.
