Goderich, with home ice . advantage, jumped into the lead within the first two minutes of play when Tim Jaynes put the puck behind the Port Stanley goaltender after taking a pass from John Thompson. For the next goal Jaynes fed Thompson the puck giving their team a comfortable two goal lead. The Signal Stars continued to play offensive hockey which resulted in Dave Gallow's first goal of the game. Port Stanley got on the scoreboard minutes later, narrowing Goderich's lead back to two. The second period saw only one goal when Dave Gallow scored his second of the game to give Goderich a 4-1 lead. The third period was all Goderich as they got two goals from Jeff Feagan, one of which was unassisted. . The Goderich Juvenile team plays on Friday at 8 p.m. in Goderich against St. Mary's. Hotel Bedford walked away with the league championship trophy and the playoff championship trophy. Dave MacDonald was honored with three individual trophies; best batting average of .465, best on base percentage of 519 and the most improved player in the league. Rob Plunkett of. Hotel Bedford was the MVP for regular season play and for the playoffs. Terry Johnston was chosen rookie of the year and Bill Black was picked as the most sportsmanlike player. Brian Sowerby was voted best catcher and Jim Ginn was given the best outfielder award. Ray Donnelly was picked as coach of the year. The executive for the 1984 season was also announced at the banquet. President is Myles Murdock, Vice -President Gord Crawford, Treasurer Bill Kirkey, Secretary Dick Eisler and Tournament Chairman was Jack MacKinnon. ..' (photo by Anne Narejko) Gee -Gee's basketball team are 3-1 The Goderich Gee -Gee's basketball teams increased their season's record to 3- 1 when they defeated Owen Sound 90-58 Sunday in Port Elgin. Al Sygrove led the scoring with 20 points while Jim and Warren Watt had 12 points each. Greg Smith scored 14, Greg Beacom IA, Andy Moore eight, Dennis Donnelly eight and Bill Barwick had six. This year's squad is coached by Phil Bugler.
