The last two or three weeks have had so
many happenings, encounters, fun things
and some sad things - but it has all kept me
on the go so much that today I feel let down.
Can't remember the funny happenings -
now, that is odd because I usually recall
things that make me laugh. if once
ceusaidi1
wouldn't mind dying young -
e
laughing.
At one time, I thought 30 years was old age
- now I wonder what was interesting when I
was 30.
Our grandparents - and their elders lived
to a ripe old age - as I understood it - years
ago: but people are living longer now -
something to do with exercise and the right
food - and probably the great vitamins we
have now.
So, all this longevity will help some of us
see our grand and great-grandchildren have
a better world. This is my hope - sometimes
I am frightened. All our super -cars, super
highways and buildings where you can't see
the top floor, are overwhelmin are Sometimes
I feel the younger people

for granted. No app
and energy, the headaches and heartaches
which those great people suffered to givea
all these things: I'm sure my great-
grandparents thought the same thing!
That little -snow flurry, last week made me
thing of the super snow falls we have had.
The "superest" was the first winter we were
here and I've often rambled on about THAT.
But you, too, can probably recall the
winter of '71 when we spent week at home.

I recall one snowdrift - can't recall the
year, but it was after we moved to the apart-
ment in the old nurse's residence. Behind
the residence was a six foot hedge but my
friend Isabel, who lived just on the other
side of it, had a secret hole made through it.
I decided to go for coffee - that's what a lot of
people did at Isabel's house. As I slipped
through the secret "hole -in -the -hedge", I
had a great surprise. I sank down in three or
I
four feet of soft snow - under a top
knew nothing about! Her door was less than
a hundred feet from MY door, but I travell-
ed half a mile back and forwards, in and out
of bigger drifts, to get there. There was no
going back - just bore ahead - and at times
that's what I did - BORE.
By the time I reached her back door, my

- eeves were full of snow - so were besides I almost lost one, of themy - my
pockets and my hair and collar were also
full. I was red from the cold wI et cta and have

the Township of West Wawanosh strongly

and Housing to declare a moratorium on the
implementation of any new method of
calculating unconditional grants until 1 ..5,
in light of the predictions that the township
stands to be adversely affected by the
proposal of the Board of Directors of the
Association of Municipalities of Ontario;
and that the said Association be requested to
endorse a moratorium; and further that the
Minister be advised that this moratorium
would also provide the province with the
opportunity to review Me impact of its
proposal on West Wawanosh Township and
many more municipalities in the province
which are similarly affected.'
