Can't remember the funny happenings - now, that is odd because I usually recall things that make me laugh. if once ceusaidi1 wouldn't mind dying young - e laughing. At one time, I thought 30 years was old age - now I wonder what was interesting when I was 30. Our grandparents - and their elders lived to a ripe old age - as I understood it - years ago: but people are living longer now - something to do with exercise and the right food - and probably the great vitamins we have now. So, all this longevity will help some of us see our grand and great-grandchildren have a better world. This is my hope - sometimes I am frightened. All our super -cars, super highways and buildings where you can't see the top floor, are overwhelmin are Sometimes I feel the younger people for the time all -this for granted. No app and energy, the headaches and heartaches which those great people suffered to givea all these things: I'm sure my great- grandparents thought the same thing! That little -snow flurry, last week made me thing of the super snow falls we have had. The "superest" was the first winter we were here and I've often rambled on about THAT. But you, too, can probably recall the winter of '71 when we spent week at home. that was the time the kids were trapped in I have a feeling that you will NOT have the bad snowfalls this winter. I wisyou arOME snow but just enough to enjoy. mer - I'm sure you need more than that, so - just PRAY mon, just pray. I recall one snowdrift - can't recall the year, but it was after we moved to the apart- ment in the old nurse's residence. Behind the residence was a six foot hedge but my friend Isabel, who lived just on the other side of it, had a secret hole made through it. I decided to go for coffee - that's what a lot of people did at Isabel's house. As I slipped through the secret "hole -in -the -hedge", I had a great surprise. I sank down in three or I four feet of soft snow - under a top knew nothing about! Her door was less than a hundred feet from MY door, but I travell- ed half a mile back and forwards, in and out of bigger drifts, to get there. There was no going back - just bore ahead - and at times that's what I did - BORE. By the time I reached her back door, my sots - eeves were full of snow - so were besides I almost lost one, of themy - my pockets and my hair and collar were also full. I was red from the cold wI et cta and have hadn't thought it was funny, frozen to pieces under that snow - what a sad Crocus I'd have been by the Spring. ,,,Did yaw ever SIT in -a-snow . bank:: t, tool is a great'revelation. Don't try it. Anyway, I was met at the door - and we laughed for weeks about it. I'm still laughing when 1 think of it.
