Band is busy preparing for another year BY BLAKE SMITH, CONDUCTOR The Goderich Laketown Band is once again back at work for another year of parades and concerts. The band can look back at last year with justifiable pride and satisfaction. As well as participation in the usual Santa Claus parades both in Goderich and surrounding communities, the band took part in several Fall Fair parades; and played Christmas concerts at Huronview and in the Suncoast Mall in Goderich after which members retired to the home of another member for their annual -Christmas Party. After Christmas, rehearsals and prepara- tions started in earnest for a gala musical evening, the annual Sounds of Goderich con- cert. This concert features not only the musical talents of the band but also those of The Teen Tones, The Craigel Jk$ ngers and The Harbouraires. The climax of the year's work was a trip to Truro, Nova Scotia for five days of con- certs and sightseeing as guests of the Truro Community Concert Band. Plans are already underway for a return visit this coming summer by the Truro Band. The Goderich band has its work cut out for them to show the Truro bandsmen as good a time aurice's inor otors SKIDOOS, MOTORCYCLES, LAWN MOWERS, CHAIN SAWS Repairs to all Make' Reasonable Rates MAURICE MILTENOURG R.
