The first fashion show to be held at the Livery was called "Puttin'
on the Ritz" and was much like its title says. The clothing was from
Rosemary's and the show was sponsored by the Maitland Curling
Club. A total of ten models displayed the clothes. They were Helen
Swimming classes were well attended
Brown, Karen Kirk, Joanne Jasper, Nora Moore, Janet Thompson,
Clara Alexander, Mary LaPahie, Robin Ormandy, Noreen McPhee

'A Colborne Township Recreation Com
mittee meeting was held Wednesday,
October 5 in the Colborne Township Hall.
The President, Reg Riehl, opened the
meeting and the secretary, Helen Riehl read
the minutes of the last meeting.
Reports on various activities were given.
Softball showed a real good season and
coaches were quite pleased with the boys
and girls efforts.
Swimming classes were well attended and
they enjoyed the Vanastra Facilities, A few
points in regard to busing children for the
swimming classes were discussed and will
be given attention next year.

quite interested in this, but date of com-
mencement of these parties will be an-
nounced later.

Mr. and Mrs. Doug McNeil, Mary Louise
and Mrs. Dorothy Reed of Goderich have
recently returned from Geraldton, Ontario
where they attended the wedding of Julie
Gardners eldest daughter, -of Mr handtIVIrs:

Dorothy Reed, to Michael Davis of
Geraldton. The McNeils also visited in
Thunder Bay.
Several former, and present, Colborne
ladies enjoyed a bus trip to Pow Wow Lodge
in the Muskoka District and visited
Algonquin Park recently. Edyth Argyle,
Gertrude Snyder, Mr. and Mrs. Dave
Harman were among the visitors
We welcome to Colborne Township Mr.
and Mrs. Allan Beange and their two sons
who are living in Mr. and Mrs. Terence

Hunter's home for the present time. Mr. and
Mrs. Huntnr are with their daughter, Mr.
and Mrs. Thompson in Seaforth.
At the time of writing, several Colborne
people were in the Intensive Care Unit of the
Goderich hospital, they are John Hen-
derson, who with his family, lived in the
Carlow Hall for several years; Mrs. Pearl
Watson and Gordon Kaitting. We wish them
a speedy recovery.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Pope of Waterloo,
Quebec visited with Mr. Pope's brother, Mr.
and Mrs. R. Buchanan and also spent
considerable time visiting his mother Lottie
Pope, a patient in Alexandra Marine and
General Hospital.

Guests for the Thanksgiving weekend with
Mr. and Mrs. R. Buchanan were their son

Soccer Tournament
Coborne Central School enjoyed the
Soccer Tournament on October 4 with the
junior girls receiving the championship and
the senior boys the consolation winners.
There will be a cross-country trip at Point
Farm the first nice day during the week of
October 18.
No trial of labor at Listowel Hospital
1JSTOWEI.- Women who have given birth
by caesarean section in past pregnancies no
longer have the option of attempting a "a
trial of labor", at the Listowel MPmnrial
STANDARD TRUST I
Hospital. The hospital board decided at their
Sept. 28 meeting that any such deliveries
would have to be attempted in a larger
hospital.
