facing three area schools. The seniors defeated Wingham in both of their
games, split the games with Clinton and went down to a two game loss
against Seaforth. The juniors defeated Seaforth in both of their games

The Works and Engineering Department will be co-ordI, ating leaf pick-up
with the regular garbage route for the next month, commencing with
October 11. 1983.
Please arrange to have leaves placed at curb. Small amounts of leaves should
be bogged and placed with regular garbage.

It may be September but
the weather lately has been
proving itself great for
golfing. Rumor has it, it's
going to last for a while, so
don't put those clubs away
just yet.
Our club champions have
finally been determined. In
the men's division, gross net
and two -ball matches were
played. The gross match
winner in the first flight was
Tom Moore and the runner-
up was Brian Reve; in
second filght, Pete Teichart
won and Larry McDougall
was 'the runner-up; and in
third flight, John McGuire
wor and John Reinhart was
the runner-up.
In our net matches, Dan
Armstrong was the first
flight winner while Ticker
Mero was the runner-up; in
second flight Bill Bodie won
and Coley McDonagh was
second; and in the third
flight Ken Straughan won
and Tim Willows was
second.
The two -ball winners in
flight A were Brian Reeve
and John Scott, while Brian
McKenzie and Bill Chisholm
were runners-up. Flight B
winners were Roman Cenlon
and Ken Straughan and
George Williams and Stew
Huyck finished second.

In the ladles' division,
Delia Bedard won gross
while' Shirley Baechler
finished second. The winner
of the handicap match was
Joan McDougall, and Mary
Lynne Teleford was runner
up. Joan Barrie won mini -
bowl, while Marlene
McDougall was the runner-
up. In two -ball Elen Connelly
and Ruth Bushell came first
and Joan McDougall and
Givene Tubish finished
second.

two -ball were Paul and
Shirley Baechler and the
runners-up were Chris
Lakeport Advertising takes
one game lead in fastball
Lakeport ' Advertising
grabbed a one game lead in
the best -of -five final in the
Goderich Industrial Fastball
League. Lakeport defeated
Hotel Bedford 2-1 last Friday
night.
Lakeport scored both their
runs in the third inning when
Arnie Parker tripled home
Dave Mclvor and Jim
Fritzley. Hotel Bedford
could only get one of those
runs back. It came in the
sixth inning when Gary
Peter's single, which was the
only Bedford hit of the night,
brought home Brian
Johnston who had walked.
Winning pitcher Simon
Langlois fired a one -hitter
and struck out nine. Rob
Plunkett pitched a four -
hitter m a losing effort while
striking out ten.
The second game of the
series goes Wednesday,
September 28 at 8:30 p.m.
and game three is Friday at
7:30. If necessary, game four
goes Sunday at 3 p.m. and
game five is next Wednesday
at 8:30 p.m.
Lakeport reached the final
by defeating Kirkey's 4-1,
completing a three -game
sweep. Simon Langlois
threw a four -hitter, while
getting two hits offensively.
Ron Klages had two of the
Kirkey,hits. Terry Johnston
pitched strongly despite the
loss, giving up six hits and
four runs, of which only one
was earned.
