World trip is honeymoon
Nina, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Stewart Knight and
Greg, son of Mrs. Margaret
Reynolds, all of Goderich,
were united in marriage by
the Reverend G.I.. Royal in a
small informal wedding in
Knox Presbyterian Church
Chapel on Saturday morn-
ing, August 6.
Mary Gregg, long-time
friend, was maid of honor
and Mike Reynolds was best
man for his brother.
The ring which Nina and
• Greg chose was a wide silver
band forming two hands
holding a heart. It is of Celtic
origin and was given to
young girls when they came
of marriagable age, and was
worn on the right hand.
When the girl became af-
fianced to a young man, the
ring was changed to the left
hand. When they married,
the ring was worn in the
reverse position.
The bride chose an off-
white linen sundress with
waist cincher jacket and
three-quarter length leg -o -
mutton sleeves for her wed-
ding. The maid of honor
wore a mauve sundress. The
bride's cascade flower ar-
rangement was composed of
cream and pink orchids,
statice, stephanotis and ivy
and the maid of honor's
nosegay was of cream and
mauve toned carnations with
stephanotis and ivy. Both ar-
rangements were by Jean
McKee of Benmiller.
Following the wedding
ceremony, a luncheon recep-
tion was held on the lawn of
the bride's parents and in the
evening, the festivities were
continued at a cottage soiree
hosted by Mary t.regg and
Sally Leitch.
Prior to her marriage; a
shower had been held for the
bride by friend and
neighbour, Mrs. Joan Hib-
bert.
Guests were present at the
wedding from Goderich, ,
Calgary, Sarnia, Toronto
and Orangeville. Honoured
guests were the bride's
grandmother, Mrs. Dolly
Bruce and the groom's
grandmother, Mrs. Mary
Henry.
The following week after
their marriage, the bride
and groom started off on a
long -planned trip which will
eventually take them around
the world, and, at least a
year to complete. The last
word was that they are in Fi-
ji heading for New Zealand.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Eisler
Laird Eisler, son of Richard and Beatrice Eisler of
Goderich, and Eunice Batkin, daughter of Douglas and
Barbara Batkin of Clinton, were married in Ontario Street
United Church, Clinton by the Reverend Stan MacDonald
on August 20. Maid of honor was Susan Jefferson of
Clinton. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Mary Jean Baer of
Goderich, Dianne Batkin of Clinton and Beverley Sem-
cyszyn of Toronto. Groomsman was Peter Vanderheyden
of Goderich. Guests were ushered into the church by -
larry Hawkins of Goderich, Doug Batkin Jr. of Clinton
and George Barwick of Bayfield. Following the wedding
ceremony, a reception was held at the Goderich arena.
After a wedding trip to Nova Scotia, Mr. and Mrs. Laird
Eisler took up residence at Huron Haven Trailer Park,
R.R. 6 Goderich. ( Photo by Paul Wheeler )
