There are some very good reasons to
stop for stationary school buses. Such as the
penalties for not stopping, which could incluW
six demerit points,fines of.up to $1.00(1 and
even imprisonment.
But the most important reason of all is
simply this: Your mistake
could costa child's life.
And that kind of mistake is
never forgotten.
So remember, drivers
going in both directions
must stop for a school bus
flashing its red lights. And
drivers approaching from behind must stop at
least 20 metres (about 4 car lengths) behind -
thc bus.
And this year, there's something new to
watch. for. Every school bus in Ontario is now
equipped with a STOP SIGN ARM that is auto-
matically raised when
childre: i are getting on or
off a school bus.
So keep an eye out this
fall for flashing lights and
stop signs on school buses.
Please, don't take a chance
with the life of a child.
CAN YOU AFFORD TO FORGET?
