K. Bogie ap spokesman, ap-
peared to seek clarification
of why cduncil had accepted
the high tender of Carrier
Mack Truck Centre, London,
instead of the low tender for
the purchase of a tandem
dump truck for the township.
Mr. Bogie said that he
understood that a motion to
accept the low tender had
been , host for. Avant _of ..:a
seconder to the motion and
he felt it was most unusual to
accept the high bid on any
tender.
Reeve Kerniglaan respond-
ed and explained that. the
debate by council for the
purchase of a truck had gone
on for six or seven hours
over the course of two or
three meetings and that
theriewas no question of the
need of a dump truck. He
confirmed that a motion to
accept the low tender had
been lost for lack of a
seconder and that a
subsequent motion to accept
the tender of Carrier Mack
Truck had resulted in a tie
