Energy Seal can detect air leakages -in •
a home by actually turning it into a
vacuum; by pumping existing ail out
through a portable door with an attached
suction device. It creates a "whooshing " '
effect around doors, windows, outlets and:
other cracks where warm. is leaving your
home and colder air enters.
The air entering the house creates a
draft that is easily detectable, even by
hand, and the suction machine is con-
nected to a computer which measures*,
changes in a house ineasures the ui...
sulation level..
Once air leakages are detected and a
house' sealed money will be saved on fuel
ktills ;Still, some fresh air is needed in the
'home to rectify humidity problems.
Exhaust fans simply draw warm air out •
of the house and encourage cold air •to
infiltrate the premises. •

Paul Kelly of Energy -Seal Inc. of t oderlch, operates the infiitrometer that sucks air from a
house, creating a negative pressure, which aids in the detection of air leaks and drafts. The
computer teratninal measures the leaks and offers a printout. Once the leaks have been
detected they are, sealed.(photo by Dave Sykes)

In an age when homeowners are look-

ooking for ways and means to cut their
heating costs, John and Kathie Stanbury
of Dungannon haVe opened a new
business, The WoodburnerShop.
The Stanburys offer airtight woodburn-
ing stoves and fireplace inserts, and can
supply the chimney and some ac-
cessories for them.
John says he has spent considerable
time researching all the woodburning
products on the market so that he can ad-
vise his customer on the most fuel effi-
cient, durable heating units available. He
claims his steel and cast, iron woodburn-
ing models are among the best - and he
has them for every decorating taste, and
pocketbook.
