On Saturday a five foot earthj►all will, be thrown around by people of all ages at the Colborne ball diamond starting at. 3 p.m. Then at 8 p.m there will be a campfire that will provide songs,, stunts, and skits. Those who wish to attend may park at the 13arnand follow the path to the campfire area. On Sunday, August 28 there will be a church ser- vice and sing -along at the Barn starting at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and it is an informal dress occasion. Couple attend picnic at Point Clark Last year, the Huron County Farm and Home Safety Association launched a program whereby the Huron County Junior Far- mers would attempt to distribute a sign warning of the possible presence of deadly gases to all farmers having either liquid manure storage or upright silos. These signs will be installed at no cost to the farmer. To date, over 1200 signs have been distributed. Do you have your sign? Dorothy (D..A.) MacLen- nan has her sister Katie Sutherland of London back with her again. Charles and Mayme Wilk- ins were in Paris, Ontario on Sunday to visit with their daughters, Barbara Shep- perd and Janert Wilkins. Barbara has left this week for a three week vacation that will take her to St. John, British Columbia and up to Alaska for a few days. Bob and Sandra Darling of Hanover had the family gath- ering with them on Sunday. They were William and Shir- ley. Irvin and family of Ashfield Township, Edwin and Janice McCutcheon and family of Lions Head, Glen Robb of Ashfield Township and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Robb of Huron Township. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mc - Charles of Kincardine had their daughter-in-law and grandson, Mrs. Allan Mc - Charles and Greg of Oakville and Mrs. Harold I. Anson, also of Oakville, 'Visit "with them for a few days. Greg has stayed over with his grandparents for an extra visit. Ross and Jean MacKenzie had Kevin and Bob MacKen- zie of Port Credit and Marion and Linda Barrett of Scar- borough with them on the weekend. Edna Culbert and her granddaughter, Julie Mac- Donald have been in London for a few days visiting relatives. Bill and Janet Kempton of Point Clark attended • the annual Coiling picnic on Sunday at the Lions Park at Point Clark. In conjunction with the picnic, a bridal shower was staged for San- dra Kempton, daughter of Bill and Janet. The wedding will take place at the Pine River United Church Sept- ember 10. Sheppard to perform at Western Fair The country music fans of southwestern Ontario will get a guitar -full of their favorite music when T G Sheppard performs at the Western Fair grandstand on Tuesday, September 13 with two shows at 7 and 9 p.m. T G has done it all .. guitarist in a :'travelling'' band, promotion man, production company owner and recording artist. In the mid -seventies, Sheppard topped the country charts with "Devil in a Bottle", "Motels and Memories" and "Solitary Man". He con- tinued his string of chart - toppers with "I Feel Like Loving You Again", "Do You Want To Go To Heaven" and his classic rendition of "Last Cheater's Waltz". His most recent appearance on the country charts was with "War Is' ° Hell '(on the. Homefront Too) ". T G, Sheppard in concert is among the most energetic, creative and likeable en- tertainers in country music. The two shows are free to fairgoers at 7 and 9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13.
