Situational Leadership was developed by Dr. Paul Hersey, a distinguished academic, author and international
trainer and consultant with more than 30 years experience in the fields of Behavioral Science and Management
Among his best-selling books, his text - Management of Organizational Behavior: Utilizing Human Resources -
has sold more than a million copies, and is a standard text in many universities throughout the United States,
Canada, Europe, Africa and the far East.
... Situational leadership has become the most widely accepted concept of leadership in organizations It offers a
practical approach for making the managerial decisions needed to achieve operating results
This program includes
- An analysis of the essential behaviours of effective leaders
- The identification of proven techniques for achieving organizational goals through improved leadership
- Skill development sessions to assist with on-the-job applications of the situational leadership model
- A variety of training techniques including TV, simulations, individual and group activities, and presentations by
highly trained experienced staff
THE WORKSHOP LEADER:
Dr. Fred Woolley is the Dean of Instructional and Student Services at Sheridan College He has conducted many
successful workshops, seminars and conferences in the area of Management Training and Trainer/ Instructor
Training, provincially and nationally. His workshops are always goal -oriented and include a variety of individual
and group experiential learning activities. He is most concerned with the transferability of skills and knowledge
from his workshops to the workplace.
Dean Woolley has been especially selected and trained by the Hersey Organization for the presentation of the
Essentials of Leadership Program.

A 15 hour lecture series on financial survival in the 80's.
Schedule: 6 consecutive Thursdays 7:00-9:30 p.m.

The lectures will focus on ways to save money on your Income Taxes and examine the fundamentals
of tax planning such as:
- Making the most of your mortgage -interest tax deductible, paydowns, penalties
- Different types of investments explained - bonds, debentures, stocks, etc.
- Income Tax considerations - ref iling your tax return
- The dividend tax credit and how it can save you tax dollars, income splitting and converting income
from highly taxed to lowed taxed, capital gains tax, interest and pension deductions
- Registered Retirement Savings Plans - T301 2, 60J rollovers, Substitution of capital, Spousal,
Selfdirected, over contributions, etc.
- All R.R.S.P. Maturity Options reviewed - R.R.I.F."s, Life Annuities and Term Certain Annuities to age
90
- Wills - protect what you have
- I.S.I.P.'s - the new indexed share investment plan to be available October 1st, 1983
At the conclusion of this lecture series you should have an awareness of the Income Tax system and
how to reduce, defer or eliminate taxes. You will also have an awareness of various investment
vehicles and an opportunity to discuss trends for the '80's.
