After completing the basics of drafting
you specialize in mechanical or structur-
al drafting. The speed at which you
progress depends upon your back-
ground and experience in industry.

Topics covered in Part I include:
Pascal's Law. Boyle's Law, Compres-
sors, Vacuum, Circuits, Oils, Pumps,
Cylinders and Flow Control. Part II
includes: Air Circuits. Moving Part Logic,
Control Valves, Hydraulic Motors, Vehi-
cle Drive and Hydrostatic Drives.

Non -Destructive Testing A
You will explore various methods of
non-destructive testing such as x-ray,
magnaflux, ultrasonic, colour defecto-
scope. One or two classes may be held
at the Guelph Campus.

Heating And Air Conditioning
Design (Residential) A
Objective: To teach the necessary
requirements and procedures for the
calculation, Iesign, installation and bal-
ancing of residential heating and cooling
systems.
The course would be of value to sales
personnel, heating and air conditioning
installers, building officials, residential
heating and cooling designers, estima-
tors and contractors.
Successful completion of the course will
result in a certificate from The Heating
Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Insti-
tute of Canada. Both the Federal and
Ontario Building Codes acknowledge
the H.R.A.I. Digest and its Manuals
including Heat Loss and Heat Gain
Calculations, as accepted design prac-
tice.

This course is a general examination of
"the mechanics of putting a building
together". It will introduce you to
materials and components of construc-
tion, the properties and limits of those
materials and components, and methods

steel, wood, moisture protection, glass,
plaster, painting, wall coverings, and
flooring.

This course is a review of basic
mathematics including trigonometry,
vectors, algebraic concepts and opera-
tions, equations, exponents and radi-

This course is a continuation of Mathe-
matics Bl and continues to review
essential skills with emphasis on han-
dling of exponents and radicals, use of
logarithms, determinants and trigon-
ometric identities.

Calculus BI A
This course covers the basic concepts of
differentiation, integration and includes
practical applications. The indefinite and
definite integral with applications and
the differentiation and integration of
transcendental functions are also cover-
ed. Problems are included which deal
with areas, volume, liquid pressure,
work and moments of inertia.

Calculus Bli A
Prerequisite: Calculus SI
In this course the concepts of differen-
tiation and integration developed in the
Calculus BI course will be extended to
include differentiation and integration of
transcendental functions, Some meth-
ods of integration such as substitutions
and integration by parts will be covered,
as well as the use of tables of integrals.
Applications of the definite integral will
include problems dealing with areas,
volumes, liquid pressure, work, and
moments of inertia.

Welding A
All aspects of welding including safety,
machinery and highly skilled industrial
applications are taught. Students may
work toward standards leading to Min-
istry of Labour tickets. Students are
expected to supply their own safety
glasses and weldirRY gloves. Students
may register for a maximum of two
welding sessions per semester.

Woodworking S
(Students must provide their own safety
glasses and ear protection is recom-
mended.)
This course is intended to provide
persons with little or no experience with
basic woodworking skills and a basic
knowledge of the safe operation and use
of tools and equipment used in wood-
working. Students will work on their own
projects.

Woodworking For Women S
(Students must provide their own safety
glasses and ear protection is recom-
mended.) This is a course especially for
women who would like the opportunity to
become familiar with the tools, tech-
niques and terminology of woodworking
before proceeding to regular Wood-
working classes. Participants will have
the opportunity to select from a large
variety of appealing projects which can
be built using mainly hand tools. Some
exposure to small power tools will also
be provided.

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE
Mechanical Maintenance
Industrial (Module VI) A
This course is offered on a modular
system. Students may enter at any
module and progress through the eight
modules. Students will require approxi-
mately four years to complete this
course. Topics for Fall 1983 semester
include Preventative Maintenance
Theory, Job Site Planning, Conveyors,
Hydraulics, Volumes, Blueprint Read-
ing, and practical work.

Pneumatics - Power And Control
Circuitry S
This course is a theoretical course
involving the basics of pneumatic main-
tenance. Maintenance and repair of
pneumatics will . be taught along with
how to analyze and diagnose malfunc-
tions.

Basic Electronic Trouble
Shooting In Industry A
Students will learn the basic principles of
logical trouble shooting. You will exam-
ine electronic circuits and their analysis,
showing how test equipment may be
