Admission Requirements
Unless prerequisites and/or admission
requirements are specifically stated in a
course description, all courses are
open to those who have a real interest
in continuous learning.
Persons who have some concern about
the level of their experience or their
ability to learn something of a particular
interest are encouraged to telephone
the Continuing Education representa-
tive at any College Campus for advice,
prior to the start of the course.
Registration For Part -Time
Courses
Class sizes are limited! An early regis-
tration including payment of fee will
help to guarantee you a place in the
course of your choice.
Full payment of course fees must be
made at the time of registration,
whether by mail or in person. Payment
can be made by personal cheque, cash
or money order. Fees quoted include a
$5 registration charge which is retained
by the College unless the course is
cancelled.
Registration For Part -Time
Programs
There are admission criteria for Part -
Time Programs (e.g. Industrial Engi-
neering Program - Level I). In addition
to the Application/Registration form on
the back cover of this catalogue,
candidates applying for Part -Time Pro-
grarns must complete a special 'Appli-
cation for Part -Time Program', Can-
didates for Part -Time Programs will be
advised of their acceptance by the
College Registrar.
For each Program the College will
specify the time frame in which a
student must complete the Program.
Where a student wishes to take a
course in a Program with no intention
of completing the Program, it will, not
be necessary to complete the special
application form.
SPECIAL DETAILS
Safety And Housekeeping
Students are expected to follow normal
safety practices, to observe housekeep-
ing regulations and to wear required
protective plothing. In courses involving
the use of equipment, specific safety
regulations will be followed.

Income Tax Receipts
Course Tuition Fees (any number of
courses) totalling more than $100 are
deductible for income tax purposes.
An income tax receipt will be distributed
in class or mailed to you at the end of
your course. The pink Student Receipt
which you receive at registration is NOT
the receipt to use for income tax
purposes. If a student requests a
duplicate receipt or a verification
letter, a $2 charge will be made to
defray administrative costs.
Course Cancellations
The College reserves the right to cancel,
postpone, reschedule or combine
classes and to limit registration or
change instructors. If your course is
cancelled, you may either transfer to
another campus or course. or receive a
full refund, Every effort will be made to
inform you at home or at work before the
start date if your course is cancelled,
postponed or changed. Remember,
early registrants help us establish a
class that might otherwise be can-
celled.
Refunds
If the College decides a course cannot
be given, the full amount of the fee paid
will be refunded.
If a student decides to withdraw, he/she
must notify the Continuing Education
Office before the end of the third
scheduled class, otherwise there is no
refund.
If the student notifies the Continuing
Education Office (1) before the first
scheduled class, the fee less a five dollar
($5.00) registration charge will be
refunded; (2) before the start of the third
scheduled class, the student will receive
the amount paid less ten dollars
($10.00).
Note:
In the Real Estate Pre -Registration
Program Intensive courses, each 3 hour
session is deemed to equal one class.
Therefore, you must request a refund
before six hours of classes have taken
place.

third week.
For seminars, workshops, two -semester
courses and motorcycle courses, refund
conditions and deadlines are specified in
the promotional literature.
In the Registered Nurse Refresher
Program, refunds will not be granted
after the fourth scheduled student
contact. Prior to that time, students may
apply for a full refund less a $50
non-refundable portion. A transfer of
fees, if, applicable, will be arranged by
the Registrar.
Reduced Fees For Senior
Citizens
The College has implemented a practice
which allows persons age 60 or over to
take most courses for a tuition fee of
$10. . These students must pay the
additional cost of supplies or equipment
and this cost is sometimes built into the
fee. Students must meet course en-
trance prerequisites.
Note: Reduced fees do not apply to
seminars or some specialty courses.
RECOGNITION OF STUDIES
Certificate
The College will issue a CERTIFICATE
to adult learners who have been offi-
cially accepted into an approved Pro-
gram (e.g. Health Care Aide Program)
and who have successfully completed
all course requirements of the Program.
The symbol C beside the Program
title indicates that the College will
issue a Certificate for successful
completion of all of the course re-
quirements of the Program.
Cumulative Achievement Report
The College will issue a CUMULATIVE
ACHIEVEMENT REPORT to indicate
the student's successful completion of
the requirements of each course which
is part of an approved Program, provid-
ed the student has been officially
accepted into the Program.
The symbol R beside the course title
indicates that the College will issue a
Cumulative Achievement Report for
successful completion of the course.
Affirmation
The College will issue an AFFIRMA-
TION to recognize the student's suc-
cessful completion of a course in which
his/her grasp of the course objectives
is measured.
The symbol A beside the course title
indicates that the College will issue
an Affirmation for successful comple-
tion of the course.
Statement Of Participation
The College will issue a STATEMENT
OF PARTICIPATION upon request to
indicate the student's attendance and
participation in a course in which the
student is not formally assessed.
The symbol S beside the course title
indicates that the College will issue a
Statement of Participation.
For many courses, the College issues
neither an .Affirmation nor a Statement
of Participation.
The symbol N beside the course title
indicates that no official recognition
is issued.
Appeals
A student who is dissatisfied with an
academic decision should contact the
supervisor in charge or the Director of
Continuing Education for a review.
