Holiday
weekend
great
for golfers
The past holiday weekend
provided avid golfers with a
great opportunity to get out
and participate in their
sport. The major organized
event for the weekend was
the holiday Two -Ball. As
usual the couples had an en-
joyable evening of socializ-
ing and golf. The winners of
this event were: Patty
Dockstader and Tony
Bedard; Marj Smith and
Niellie Clark; and Della
Bedard and Lloyd
Schoenhals. The next Two
Ball will be Friday, Aug. 12
at 5:00 p.m. It will be a fish
fry.
Last Tuesday was a
beautiful sunny y dayand with
the weather so nice, the men
were eager to get out to the
golf course and play Men's
Night. The results for the
evening were: low gross,
Leroy Bedour; low net, Ron
Harris; first flight, Mike Pa-
quette, Ticker Mero and
Brian Reeve; second flight,
Pat Conlon, Pete Tiechert
and Bill Yungblut; and third
flight, Don Elliott, Howard
Barker and Gary Chambers.
Ladies' Night was its usual
successful evening with a
number of ladies enjoying
each others company over a
friendly nine holes of golf
followed by dinner. Second
flight winners were Eileen
Howey, Marj Smith and Evy
McDonagh. On third flight,
Dorothy Bourdeau, Dorothy
Bogie and Mary Lynne
Telford won, while Joan Bar-
rie, Gloria Burt and Patty
Powell won on fourth flight.
A number of the Sunset
ladies travelled to Listowel
last week to compete in the
I.istowel Ladies Tourna-
ment. Low net of the day was
won by Shirley Baechler.
Other Sunset winners were
Mary 'Lynne Telford,
Dorothy Bourdeau and
Marilyn Graham.
The results of Junior Day
were: Low gross for the day,
Kevin Telford; low net for
the day, Paul -McCartney;
lora net for flight A, Mark
Stokes; and low net for flight
B, Bill Trebish.
