, Tigs week the Godlerich
Recreation Depardme*C has
planned a few athletic ac-
tivities as part of its Summer
Special Events program.
Tomorrow, Thursday, Ju-
ly 28 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon
urly28from10a.m.-12noon
and 1:30 - 4 p.m. games will
be played at Judith
Gooderham Park. All ages
are welcome and the event is
free of charge.
On Friday, July 29 a dance
will be held in the Arena
Auditorium from 1 - 4 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded for
the best costume, the best
dancer and some surprise
categories. The dance is free
of charge.
Rollerskating will take
place on Tuesday, August 2
from 9 a.m. - 12 noon for
children eight years and
under and 1- 4 p.m. for those
nine and older. The cost is 50
cents for admission and 25
cents for skate rental.
On Wednesday, August 3 a
trip to Storybook Gardens
has been organized. A bus
will leave Judith Gooderham
Park at 10 a.m. sharp and
will return by 5 p.m. The cost
is $6 and the trip is open to
those nine years -old and
over. Pre -registration must
be completed at the Rec of-
fice.

Event
planned
at Gully
Sunday and Monday, July
31 and August 1, Hully Gully
is the site of two days of
spectacular motocross rac-
ing. Riders from all over On-
tario come together to the
Hully Gully holiday weekend
extravaganza to battle it out
for points and prizes. Riders
begin arriving Saturday
night to be ready for Sun-
day's program.
Beginning at noon Sunday,
Junior and School Boy
Classes, Senior and Experts
in the 125 classes and the 240
and over classes square off
in what promises to be some
of the hottest and most com-
petative motocross racing
this side of the Nationals,
which were also held at Hul-
ly Gully on July 9 and 10. In
fact, some of the same riders
who put forth such a great
showing during the
Nationals will be back.
On Monday, August 1, all
the Senior and Expert
Classes, plus the wild and
woolly 125 Junior class and
the School -Boy 80 classes
will put on an exciting day of
racing.
Besides the racing action,
spectators can also get in-
volved in some of the other
activities at Hully Gully.
Camping is available for
anyone wishing to take in
both days and make a
weekend of the holiday
weekend extravaganza.
Breakfast is available both
days, and Sunday night, Hul-
ly Gully offers a Corn Roast.

noon.

Port Elgin
The first league is over and
the grand winners were the
HOTSHOTS - Lori Hassall,
Don MacE wan and Mike
Collins, with 32 points. It was
a battle to the end with the
Dominators - Folin Picket,
Herb Murphy, and Donna
ritzley, coming in second
ith 30 points.
The second league began
Sunday evening. Doug
Smith's team got off to a
great start collecting six
points.
Congratulations to two of
our members - John Brown
and Jim Costello, who won
the tournament in Port Elgin
the weekend.
We have another celebrity
in our membership. Did you
know that Bill Prest won the
"wet T-shirt contest" in
Daytona Beach last winter?
The Civic Holiday Classic -
Men's and Ladies' Doubles
tournament is on the
weekend and is open to
anyone. Participants are
reminded to register at the
Pro Shop by Thursday.
