As usual, it proved a very successful day. Eighty-two people in total turned out to golf and socialize. There was a three way tie for first place between Keith and Raeanne Stein of Whispering Hills Golf Club in Hanover, Don and Jean Black of Rockway Golf Course in Kitchener and Carol Ann Doig and Bruce Morris of Seaforth Golf Course. The Steins were the winners on the first. Low net of the day was won by Mary Lynn and Stan Telford of the host dub. Other Sunset winners were Marilyn Graham and Howie Barker, Don and Rosemary Armstrong, Joyce and John Scott, Evy and Coley McDonagh, Larry McDougall and Mary Degruichy, Stan and Ellen Connelly, Dorothy and Art Bourdeau, Brian and Chris Reeve, Shirley and Paul Baechler and Thora and Harold McPherson - Men's Night results were as follows; low gross, Tony Bedard; low net, John McGuire; first flight, Bob McDougall, Stan Connelly, and Paul Baechler; second flight, Bob Corrigan, Dr. Conlon, and Stan Telford; third flight, Ron Harris, Ken Straughan and Jim Crawford. Ladies' Night winners were: first flight, Della Bedard and Shirley Baechler; second flight, Marj Smith, Ellen Connelly and Joan McDougall; third flight, Joyce Scott, Velma Haylow, Dorothy Bogie and Ruth Bushell; and fourth flight, Betty Fuller, Joan Barrie and Sjanie MacAdam. Several of our ladies have been doing quite well while travelling to various tour- naments held in the area. Mary Lynn Telford, Dorothy Bourdeau and Marilyn Graham were winners in Saugeen. Four of our Juniors travelled with the Seaforth Golf Club on Wednesday to the Canadian Open. A free clinic and a chance to watch the pro's in action made the day very exciting as well as educational. Just a reminder - The next Two -Ball is Monday, August 1. The social hour will begin at 4 p.m. with golfing at 5 p.m. Bring your own meat for the B.B.Q. Barn dance to be held Kick up your heels to an old time barn dance this week at Point Farms Provincial Park. Join us this week... Friday, July 29 8 p.m. Twilight Hour - come to the Stirling Barn for an hour of fun and en- tertaining films. Enjoyment for the whole family. Saturday, July 30 4 p:m. Batter up. Softball game for all ages at the Colborne Ball Diamond. Bring a glove and a friend. We need spectators too. Bring your lawn chairs and cheer your favourite team. 7:45 p.m. Hayrides to the Barn Dance. Meet at the Huron Comfort Station at 7:45 and at the Colborne Comfort Station at8 p.m. 8:30 p.m. Kick up your heels to an old time barn dance with square dances and lots of waltzes and polkas too. Join in the fun with Joe Tiffin's Orchestra and caller, Horace Crawford. Bring the whole family. Sunday, July 31 11:30 a.m. Church services and singalong at the BArn. Informal dress, everyone welcome. 2 p.m. Outdoor art - Come to the beach Volleyball net Capitals upset Generals BY GEOFF KING The Generals put up a valiant effort in Monday night's game but were no match for the overpowering Capitals. The first period was dominated by the Capitals, scoring two fast goals thus keeping the Generals off the score board. During the second period, the Generals pulled their goaltender early allowing Todd Jeffery to score the lone goal for the Generals assisted by Mike Creamer. Scoring for the Capitals were Damn Doak with two goals and Jason O'Neil who also had two goals. Shawn Larder assisted on both O'Neil goals. The final score was 4 -1 for the Capitals. for some fun for children of all ages. Admission to all events is included in the entrance fee. A little bit of history - Did you know that ... The Point Farm Hotel built in 1874 by J. J. Wright, was demolished in 1924 due to a lumber shortage by the Mercantile Salvage Com- pany.
