Nice weather and a healthy competitive spirit made the day enjoyable for the participants. Low net winner for the day was Ron Harris, while Bill Brown won the first low gross. Bill Chisholm had the. "longest drive" on no. 9 hole and was also "closest to the hole" on no. 10. Last Thursday, several Sunset ladies travelled to Kincardine to play in the Kincardine Ladies Tour- nament. ournament. Congratulations to Mary Lynn Telford, who won the first low gross in the third flight and to Dorothy Bourdeau, another winner that day. On Sunday, July 17, there will be a ladies' brunch at the Sunset. It will start at 1 p.m. and be followed by 18 holes of golf. The weekly men's night results were as follows: Tony Bedard won low gross and Jim Crawford won low net. The first flight winners were Stan Connelly, Dave MacAdam, and Brian Reeve. In second flight, Bob Dempsey, Stan Telford, and Art Burt won, while Bill Graham, Murray Manning and Don Elliott were the third flight winners. Last week's ladies' night winners were: first flight - Della Bedard;. second flight- Pat. ;ockstader and Eileen Noway; third flight - Joan McDoiigall and Darlene Crawford; and fourth flight - Marlene McDougall and Joan Barrie. Junior Day is held every Wednesday. This week it will commence at 1 p.m. Last week David Almasi won low gross, while Tom Durnin won low net. The winners of flight A and B were John Freeman and Mark Stokes, respectively. The next two -ball will be this Friday (July 15). The social will start at five with tee -off times after six. Just a reminder: Please check club match sheets in order to make sure all matches are played within the allowed time. Race Review BY YVETTE RICHARD Thursday, July 7, marked the second night of racing at the GoderictaRaceway with Bainton's of Blyth donating a pair of driving gloves to the winning drivers of each race. Linlor Lebelle, owned by Lois and Verdun Vanstone of Goderich, won the ninth race in 2:05 with Verdun VanstOne driving. Benmiller Bigshot finished second in the seventh race and Benmiller Pete finished fourth in the second race. All horses are owned by Lois and Verdun Vanstone with Verdun as the driver. Owners Charles and Clara Brindley also had three horses racing on Thursday night: Miss Krista Hal, the winner of the fifth race in 2:10:3; Rustic Dream finished third in the second race; and Rystic Helene finished seventh in the ninth race. Gerry Roebuck was the driver for Charlie's horsees. Frosty Hawthorn, owned by Raymond Cook of Goderich, won the first race in 2:11:2 with Randy Henry as the driver. Rex G Ames was the winner of the fourth race in 2:11:3. John Duckworth was the driver and Rex Duck- worth is the owner. Owners William and Mary McLean of Goderich received a second with Deep Run Skipper in the third and a fifth with Deep Run Super in the eighth race. William McLean was the driver.' G G Columbo, owned by Paul Dougherty, Leroy Meriam and Robert Daer of Goderich, finished second in the tenth race with Randy McLean driving. Noble Amy, owned by Koop DeGroot of Goderich, finished third in the first race with John Lester the driver. Sunrise Bingo, finished third in the third race, owned by Doug Kerr of Dungannon with Randy McLean driving. Randy also drove Lissa's Girl, owned by Ronald and Robert Daer of Goderich, in the eighth race finishing third. Chipwood Muffin, owned by Grant and Carl Fisher of Goderich, finished third in the tenth race. Broken M- Stables of Goderich had two horses in Thursday night.
