concessions highlighting the
activities of the home and of
the Day Centre.
No doubt there are many
people whoa\ don't have an
awareness of just what takes
place in Huronview: Every
area or department had a
booth attractively displaying
exhibits of the operation_
For example, the laundry
section showed pictures of a
soiled garment and the cycle
it goes through to the fnish-.

Jean Barnett with the carna-

wore their name tags ,with
the flowers of their respec-
tive gardens and each child
enjoyed the companionship
and guardianship of his or
her own gardener for the
day.
They left Goderich at 9
a.m. and their first call was
at the Little Tree Farm
Nurseries in London_ Here
the Green Thumbers were
given a 'red carpet' welcome
and conducted on a very in-
formative and interesting
tour of the nurseries by a
very charming young lady,
Dianne explained the care,
culture and growing habits
of the various varieties of
trees and shrubs. She also
spent considerable time ex-
plaining the various
cultivars of roses and
displayed many of thein so
the boys and girls will have
some knowledge when the
winners of the garden con-
test receive their: rose shrubs
in the fall. The children were
also invited to explore the ire
teresting interior shop where
niany beautiful house plants,
etc. are on display. At the
conclusion of the tour, the
children and their leaders
were very graciously given
ivy geraniums as tokens of
the interesting tour.
As the rose gardens were
not yet in bloom, the children
were taken to Springbank
Park where there is so much
beauty and so many flowers.
Of course, the highlight here
was Storybook Gardens_
Following a picnic lunch
right by the bandshell where
London's Canada Week
Celebrations were just
beginning," the children
entered Storybook Gardens
for some fun -filled hours_ We
were proud that the emcee
for the opening celebrations
welcomed the Goderieh
Green Thuanbers to the park_
Having exhausted
(almost) the thrills of
Storybook Gardens, the
group then wandered over
the park and concluded their
Springbank revelry on the
little train around the lovely
green lawns.
A very tirell and, needless
to say, hungry group finally
boarded the bus and their
last port of call had to be no
other than McDonald's
where, all redeemed a
coupon for free french fries
that were being distributed
throughout the park_
Thanks especially to the
adults who so cheerfully
volunteered to share this
beautiful experience.
Thanks also to a very plea-
sant and patient bus driver,
Sherwood's Everett Robin-
son, who was presented with
a Friendship Book by presi-
dent, Shelley Wilson, who
commented that perhaps
'that it ought to have been
