Dungannon women appointed to executive
Congratulations to three of
our atea women who were
appointed to offices on the
Huron County Historical Soc-
iety at the annual meeting
held in Wroxeter recently.
Bessie McNee was named as
publicity officer while Wilet-
ta McWhinney and Marian
Zinn were named to the
council.
Annabel Stewart, Goder-
ich, Dianna teddy and Betty
Errington of London and
Leola Chisholm of Cam-
bridge enjoyed a four day
bus trip to New York City,
recently.
Mrs. Bill Almond and
daughter, Jane R. R. # 4
Meaford, visited with aunt,
Beatrice Payne and family.
Leola Chisholm spent a
week's holiday with her par-
ents, Len and Olive Chisholm
last week.

Mark Kerr celebrated his
fifth birthday on Sunday with
a family celebration. He is a
son of Gary and Yvonne
Kerr.

Presbyterian Church, Wing -
ham. Those who attended
were Winnifred Girvin, Bes-
sie McNee, Jean Errington,
Willetta McWhinney, Peggy
Purdon, Olive Chisholm and
Norma Martin. Huron West
officers elected from Dun-
gannon branch for 1983-84
were Alma Black as second
vice president and Winnifred
Girvin as federation repres-
entative.
Winnifred Girvin gave a
report on the afternoon ses-
sion of the district meeting.
Murray Cardiff M.P. was
guest speaker telling of his
trip as Canada's representa-
tive
to the United Nations,
New York, and his more
recent trade mission to South
East Asia, giving viewpoints
on culture.
Myrtle Kerr introduced
guests, Jean Black, who gave
an interesting demonstration
on flower arranging and cor-
sages. Ila Crozier presentedi
her with a gift.
Bessie McNee conducted a
contest on Flowers, won by
Marian Zinn, runners up
Willetta McWhinney and
Melba Park.
Lunch was served by ,
Alma Black and Myrtle Kerr.

Trevor Chambers, grade 2,
was in London Hospital after
his cheekbone was broken by
a baseball bat while playing
ball in Goderich.
Hoard Blake, school sec-

pital this week undergoing
tests. Debbie MacGillivray is
supplying for him.
Mrs. Carroll_s class have
been doing a link on space
which they are 'enjoying.
Several loads of pea stone
were dumped under u the
playgrounds, swings andhall
diamond bases. This soaks
up the puddles' .and makes
playing easier.. -
Debbie' -Nivins' was'- in
Wingham Hospital with al-
" lergy reactions. Debbie is at
home now.
Douglas Culbert -found a
turtle in a swamp down by
the river and he took it to
school and his class is watch-,
ing it. -
The pupils,of his class are
also making whale booklets.
They did some research in
the library for the informa-
tion. The children are^also
learning how to count mon-
ey.
e Room 3 pupils are• dividing
into groups and doing puppet
plays for the rest of the class:
Some grade 7 and 8 stud-
ents took the Gadss Math
Test last week. The Univer-
sity of Waterloo and the
Grand Valley Mathematics
Associations sponsored it.

The nurse has been giving

and german measles.

held on Thursday, June 2 at
