The first ladies' night was

one hour lessons before,
given by Jim Costello and
John Brown. ft is rumoured
Joanne was a real threat on
the courts with her Sting rac-
quet.
Don't forget the Geritol
CUD. May 27. Bring your part-
ners down for a fun night of
tennis.
There was a good turnout .
for the juniors' free clinic •
last Saturday thanks to John
Janula for his lessons.
By the way ladies, those
rules should be ready
anytime for the morning ses-
sions.
See you on the courts.

Horse places
second in event
On Sunday. Mav 15, Cap-
puccino, a six year old
thoroughbred owned by Dr.
and Mrs. Desmond Leeper
participated in his first event
this season.
Despite the poor weather
conditions, 78 horses were in-
terested in this competition
which took place at the
Caledon Hunt Club in the
Caledon Hills north of Toron-
to.
The event consists of three
phases, . dressage, cross
country jumping and
stadium jumping. It is a
demanding sport for both
horse and rider,. since the
three phases must be com-
pleted in one day. Points are
accumulated at the end of
the phase.
In this competition "Ciao"
finished in second place
overall, an incredible plac-
ing for this relatively inex-
perienced horse...
