They are Laurie Dovey and Michele Cam- pbell. Along with Laurie and Michele, Pat Dockstader and junior helper Andrew Cox are returning to help Paul and Shirley through the busy summer season. The clubhouse facilities --pro shop, lounge, snackbar-as well as driving range are all presently open. On May 3, the Sunset held its first Men's Night. Unfortunately, weather conditions were not the best. ' It was exceedingly wet and rainy. Tony Bedard and Lloyd Schoenhals were low gross and low net winners respectively. The first flight c winners were Ralph, Kingswell, Ticker Mero, Torn Moore and Dave e MacAdam. S The second Men's Night on May 10 was blessed with much fairer and warmer weather. Approximately 50 B players turned out. The h results were as follows: Th Tony Bedard -low gross; st Stege Huyclr'mlow net; flight eon Armstrong, Stan, Vonnelly and Bob liticIlaugall; second night,' Stan Telford, Al MacDonald and Bob Corrigan; and third flight -Art Burt, Gary Chambers, and Don Elliot. The success of Men's bight last Tuesday was repeated • on Thursday when the ladies came out for their evening. Once again, the weather was sunny and warm. Winners were: first flight low 'gross - Della Bedard, low net Shirley Baechler; . second flight low gross -Chris Reeve and Ellen Connelly, low net- Thora McCabe; third flight low gross -Joan McDougall and Mary Lynne Telford, low net -Joyce 'Scott; and fourth flight -Ruth Bushel, Velma Haylow, Joan Barrie, Bunny Le Blanc and Gwen Trebish. Men's and Ladies' Nights are held every week --rain or shine. Men's and Ladies' Nights, May 24 and 26 respectively, will be held in onjunction with Guest Nights. Other up and coming vents will include the unset's first season two ball on May 23. Tee off time will be 3 o.m. and f fed will be provided. A men's Early ird Tournament will be eld on Saturday, May 21. is event will include a eak barbecue. Junior Vikings have split record BY TD The GDCI junior Vikings continue to play .500 soccer in the Huron -Perth Con- ference. Coach Darryl Carpenter's team won one. and lost one last week, defeating Central Huron 3 0 Monday but losing 2 - 0 to South Huron Friday in Exeter. The split leaves the Viking with a three -win, three -loss record heading into the final .. week of the regular season. Monday the Vikings played in Listowel and today (Wednesday) they play at home against Mitchell. Their chances of making the playoffs may depend on strong efforts in these games. In Clinton, the Vikings got two goals from John Thompson, set up by passes from Trevor Erb and Peter Conlon. Grant Garrow got his third goal of the season, finishing off a combination -play with Todd Graham and Peter Conlon. Jeff LeBeau recorded his second shutout for the Vikings. On Friday, the thirteenth, the Vikings ran into their own case of bad luck. The ball seemed to elude them and the. Vikings were unable to sustain any kind of sustanied attack. Jeff LeBeau had his problems in goal and did not come up with hisusual steady per- formance. The Vikings were missing several players due to disciplinary measures and injuries. Deckhands win medals The Goderich Old Deckhands returned home last weekend from Nash- ville, Tenn. with silver medals as the result of finishing runners-up in the Patsy Cline Division of the Sports Holiday International Tournament. During the tournament Goderich faced teams from as far away as Yellowknife, N.W.T. Yellowknife, N.W.T. This tournament climaxed a very successful year for the team that saw them pick- up two gold medals, a silver medal and mugs in the six tournaments that -they participatqd •in, beginning last Labour Day weekend in Port Elgin.
