Junior Vikings
have split record
BY TD
The GDCI junior Vikings
continue to play .500 soccer
in the Huron -Perth Con-
ference. Coach Darryl
Carpenter's team won one.
and lost one last week,
defeating Central Huron 3 0
Monday but losing 2 - 0 to
South Huron Friday in
Exeter.
The split leaves the Viking
with a three -win, three -loss
record heading into the final ..
week of the regular season.
Monday the Vikings
played in Listowel and today
(Wednesday) they play at
home against Mitchell. Their
chances of making the
playoffs may depend on
strong efforts in these
games.
In Clinton, the Vikings got
two goals from John
Thompson, set up by passes
from Trevor Erb and Peter
Conlon. Grant Garrow got
his third goal of the season,
finishing off a combination
-play with Todd Graham and
Peter Conlon.
Jeff LeBeau recorded his
second shutout for the
Vikings.
On Friday, the thirteenth,
the Vikings ran into their
own case of bad luck. The
ball seemed to elude them
and the. Vikings were unable
to sustain any kind of
sustanied attack. Jeff
LeBeau had his problems in
goal and did not come up
with hisusual steady per-
formance. The Vikings were
missing several players due
to disciplinary measures and
injuries.
