After Five Club plans May dessert
Spring will be the theme of
the Goderich and District
After Five Club's May
dessert and coffee meeting.
It will be held at the Can-
dlelight Restaurant in
Goderich on Tuesday, May
24 from 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Dixie Cameron of Smith's
Farm and Garden Centre,
Goderich will present
"Beautifying the Outside";
Larry and Charlotte Hut-
chins of Goderich will
present "Cultivating Sounds
of Spring" and Peg Haddad
of Belle River will speak on
"Planting Seeds of
Thought".
Reservations and can-
cellations are essential.

Tenders approved
Goderich town council
approved two tenders at its
regular meeting Monday for
construction and paving
projects:'
Council accepted the.
tender bid of Lavis Con-
tracting Ltd. of Clinton in the
amount of $155,580 to com-
plete paving of several.tdwn
streets. Paving will ' be
completed on Britannia
Road between Gibbons and
South Streets, North Street
from Nelson Street to the
Square, Cambridge Streit at
Oxford Street, Walnut Street
from Cambridge Street to
Huron Rbad, Maple Street
from Huron Road to Cam-
bridge Street, Harbour Hill,
Suncaost Drive extension,
Harbour Quay, Blake Street
from Bayfield Road to Hinks
Street and Hinks Street from
Blake to. Stonehouse Street.
Most of the paving should
be completed before the end
of June.
Council also accepted a bid
of $21,372 from robuck
Contracting Limited of
London to complete brick
sidewalk construction on
Hamilton Street from the
Square. The project is ex-
pected to be complete by
July 1.

Wellington, Kae and Jim
Webster were in Goderich on
Sunday and took Norma
Young out to dinner to the
Candelight Tavern.
Adam Charles, infant soh
of Larry and Janet Wilkins,
and grandson of Charles and
Mayme Wilkins, was baptiz-
ed on Sunday at ,the Trinity
United Church. The families
of both Larry and Janet were
present, and all went to their
home after the baptismal to
enjoy a luncheon.
Charles and Mayme Wilk-
ins visited the Websters
when Jim was home on the
weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Mac-
Lean and their granddaugh-
ter, Heather Kelts of Colling-
wood visited on Sunday with
Mr. and Mrs. Ewan Mac-
Lean.
Mr. and Mrs. Ewan Mac-
Lean were visiting recently in
Sarnia and Wyoming 'with
relatives there.
Edna Culbert accompanied
Cliff and ivy Hartman to
London and while there, they
visited with friends and rela-
tives.
Elmer and Edna Culbert
were in London recently at
the Home Show.
Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Mc -
Charles of Kincardine had
.Mr. and Mrs. John McChar-
les and Ryan of Petrolia call
on them.

brother and sister-in-law,

Congratulations to Mr.
and Mrs. Bob Courtney of
Point Clark on the arrival of
their new grandson. who was
born on Saturday, April 30.

and Wendy --Leonard of Mis-
sissauga.
Finlay MacLennan of Kin-
cardine, son of Mrs. Rhetta
MacLennan. is at present. a -
patient in the Owen Sound
Hospital. Thecommunity
sends get well wishes.
We are glad to report that
Mrs. Oliver (Marion) Mc -
Charles of Kincardine was
able to 'return home from
London hospital the first of
the week. Mrs. McCharles
had been hospitalized close
to two weeks following sur-
gery.
Bob. Sandra and Heather
Darling of Hanover have
been recent visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Gordon Robb.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon
Robb were dinner guests on
Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Eccles of Holstein.
Visiting a day or two with
Mr. and Mrs. Jim MacKen-
zie and• family was Mrs.
MacKenzie's grandmother,
'Mrs. Mae Rock of Seaforth.
Mrs. Georgia Mitchell of
the fourth concession of
Huron Township, the forme!
Avon representative for the
area, is able to be home
again. after being in and out
of hospitals (Wingham and
London) a good part of the
winter. Keep well, Georgia.
Presently there are three
Friendship Bible Coffees in
the area which have grown
out of this club. Anyone
interested in attending one of
