Maple Leaf Chapter,
IODE met for their April
meeting in the = ladies'
parlour of Knox
Presbyterian Church with 29
members present. Regent,
Mrs. W. J. McIntyre presid-
ed over the meeting.
Reports were accepted
from Mrs. C. Knight,
secretary and Mrs. G. B.
Kelly, treasurer.
Mrs. H. J. Murphy, educa-
tion secretary, confirmed'
that the glass prisms for
science projects and scissors
have been sent to the
adopted school in Labrador. •
Mrs. C. E. Roddy, ways
and means convener,
reported that tickets are still
available for the fund-
raising project, "Color by
Design" Consultant Ethel
Harper, and Patricia
Cooper, Mary Kay
Representative, Thursday,
April 28 at 8 p.m. at MacKay
Hall. Tickets are $4 which in-
cludes dessert and coffee,
and proceeds will be used for
community projects.
The Echoes secretary,
Mrs. A. A. Garland, inform-
ed the members that a photo
taken of the Maple Leaf
Chapter executive, toasting
the Canada Act, appeared in
the latest edition of Echoes,
and had the same on view.
Four delegates, Mmes.
Garrow, German, McIntyre
and Stanbury will represent
the chapter at the IODE Pro-
vincial Annual 'Meeting in
Toronto on April 13 and 14;
also the regent will carry the
voting card.
Mrs. Murphy, convener of
the Red Cross campaign, re-
quested the members to aid
as captains and canvassers.
Mrs. W. Stanbury, one of
the markers for the Oppor-
tunity Shop, stated that they
require additional markers.
The regent regretted hav-
ing to inform the members
that the speaker, John C.
Mulvihill, Regional Ex-
ecutive Director,
Southwestern Ontario of the
Canadian Red Cross,
cancelled due to ill health.
The regent conveyed the
chapter's thank you for the
use of the ladies' parlour of
the Knox Presbyterian Chur-
ch.
Lunch was prepared by
Mrs. R. J. Nephew, member
of the tea committee, and
served by Mrs. 'G. Hunter
and her committee.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs. R.
Breckenridge, 260 Warren
Street, on May 3, at 8:15 p.m.

for title
Members of the province'
egg industry will try to out-
bid each other for the best
eggs in Ontario on April 20,
as the winning entries in the
Ontario Egg Board's annual
Egg Quality Contest are put

wi ' be auctioned at 3 p.m. at
the Western Fair Grounds in
London. The Egg Quality
Contest and the auction of
prize-winning eggs will
highlight the 26th annual
Poilltry Industry Conference
and Exhibition, sponsored
by the Ontario Poultry Coun-
cil.
Half of each winning bid
will be donated to the Easter
Seal Society in support of
physically disabled
children; the other half will
be awarded to the entrant.
Last year, a total of $1,542.50
was donated to charity.
The top five entries in each
of the seven classes will . be
awarded a cash prise by the
Ontario Egg Producers'
Marketing Board. In addi-
tion, six trophies will be
presented during the Ontario
Egg Board's L cheon on
