*web 80th was a Moat
!memorable evening for the
Ladies' ad es Section .,of the
Maitland Curling Club. Not
only did it signify the end of
another successful curling
season with«the usual display
of talent andsldlls on ice, but
"new talent" was discovered
off ice, as well, in the form of
'"her Maitland Ladies'
Easter Parade of Fashions",
but more about that later!
The evening got off to a
great start with cocktails
and another fine dinner
prepared by Debbie and her
staff. The curlers are most
appreciative to Deb for her
continued effort throughout

business Meeting was con-
ducted and a "Special
. Presentation", was made to
honor Skip, laleanor Er
skine, who curled
magnificently' all year and•
won practically everything
, there was to win! With all
due respect to Eleanor's
humbleness though, victory
is a team effort and Eleanor
achieved her many suc-
cesses with the help of three
other talented, curlers, as
well. Still, Eleanor, you've
got to face up to it, YOU'RE
DARNED GOOD! !

Finally, to top this evening
off, the ladies' executive sur-
prised their members with,
UGH, "The Maitland Ladies
Easter Parade of Fashions".
Since all the participants
were equally as hideous but
unique, mind you, . it would
be unfair for -this reporter to
try and single out any one
model for special merit but a
brief commentary, I cannot
resist, so here goes.
Phyllis Lawrence led the
parade, and she actually
looked respectable, even
kind of cute, but things got
progressively
worse quickly! Phyl did
look good in pink but soon
went red when the bunny on
her bonnet meed upon the
floor.
Ever so carefully then,
Karen Kirk sashayed in
wearing an evening gown, of
sorts, adorned by a horse
hair fur? "A Trigger original
designed by Roy", proclaim-
ed Karen.
Kay King came next
modelling, well, I still
haven't figured it out yet, but
she resembled The Pokaroo
from The Polka Dot Door.
Following Kay, and she's a
hard act to follow, Sandy
Braid strutted in fres') farom
-her Bahamian retreat, still
brown and still smilin
g,

Kay Duncan modelled
something from California..

Kay, soon! .If you really want
to attract attention while sit.:
ting on the Maitland Ter-
race, I suggest you borrow
either Johnine's or Vicki's
outfit, or both.
Next across the floor slunk
Emily Crew, and I'm sure
that one wink from this
raven -haired beauty would
have reduced someone like
Valentino to a pile of 'jelly.
Her natural Maitland River
Rat fur was a nice touch but
the rose hose and blue danc-
ing slippers, well, well that
brings me to our last model,
thank God, the one and only,
Vicki Culbert. Vicki modell-
ed a casual but classy (fox
collared, you know)
housecoat with very little
underneath.
All joking aside, the
models did a terrific job and
their originality and good
sportsmanship helped make
an already successful even-
ing even more enjoyable.
Honorable mention here
must go out to Ardith
Brisette who looked utterly
adorable in her cuddly bun -
