Dr. Pierre Turgeon of the
University of Ottawa will be
the keynote speaker at the
religion professional
development day on April 15
at St. Michael's School in
Stratford.
The theme for the Huron -
Perth Separate School Board
PD day is Celebrate who we
are. Dr. Turgeon, a
professor of education at, the
Ottawa university will be
speaking on "The Best Is Yet
To Come".
In. the afternoon, the
professor will be conducting
a workshop on teacher
wellness - an essential in the
teaching equation.
Sister Elaine Dunn of the
Ontario Separate School
Truestees Association will be
speaking on Catholic

Drama
Fest
to be held
Huron County Junior
Farmers' Association is
pleased to be hosting Drama
Fest '83. Drama Fest is one
of the many competitive
events scheduled by the Pro-
vincial Junior Farmers'
Association of Ontario.
Counties from across the
province have the opportuni-
ty to compete in one -act
plays (of their choice),
public speaking and slide
show presentations.

everyone to come and enjoy
Drama Fest '83, which is be -
ng held at the , Blyth
Memorial Hall on Saturday,
April 9. Aetivities begin, at 9
a.m. Your $1 admission fee
entitles you to a day of ex-
citing and entertaining
features.

Festival Er -
planned
The first anniversary of
the signing of the Canadian
constitution will be
celebrated in the Town of St.
Marys on Sunday, April 17.
Local citizens are
organizing the one -day event
to be called the Maple Leaf
Festival. Organizers say the
aim of thp festival is to
• provide' a program and
I Ceremony to enjoy the oc-
casion.
A slo-pitch tournament at
10 a.m. will start off the
events. At 1 p.m. a Maple
Leaf early bird tennis
tournament will begin as will
other sporting events.
The highlight of the day
will be a reception at the
town hall at 12:30 p.m. with
Perth MP Bill Jarvis, MPP
High Edighoffer and other
politicians in attendance.
The'reception will then move
tO Centennial Park fOr a tree
planting ceremony, at 1:30
P.m 1,
It is hoped the event will
become an annual affair
with a ceremonial tree
planted each year.
