chief topic for the evenings discussion
It was decided to submit a By-law
for $5000 to he voted on o'n, Mauday
May 27th and to commence the work
as soon as practicable.
Lovett and. Ford that all connec'
,'tions made at the time of constru-
etion of the sewer the sum of $2.00
will be char,aed and all future con-
nections to be put in at cost, no con-
nections to be made less than $2.00

The deceased has been ailing; tor

tre Huron have refused to transfer
a grant of liquor 1 scense for the
British Exchange hotel Goderich to
Gordon Brown the intended purchaser
An amicable arrangement of the af-
fairs of the hotel could not be arriv-
ed on this !ground the transfer was
refused Mr. Brown returned ;to
Windsor and E. R. Schwaretz is a-
gain in charge of the hotel.

Thomas Gibbinlgs, a farmer living
near Clinton, was badly injured when
he was out on the land operating a
big roller The seat broke and falling
backwards ,pulled the ;horses back.
Only the seat raising nip one side of
the roller, savedhimfrom beingkil-
led. As it was the doctor had to
put 15 stitches in his forehead. Gib-
rbings wast also hu rt about the ribs
though none were broken. He got
up wadi rode the 'horses 'half a ,smile
to the stable and then, walked to' his
brothers house to telephone for the
doctor. Mr. Gilbbings is 67 years of
age. If no complications set in he
will be around in a•short time.

trict, died at Stratford hospital last
Thursday morning Mrs. Livia,;-•

friends were at his bedside when the
end came quietly.
He was taken ill at Windsor some
months ago and remained for some
weeks at the home of Bev. S. J. Alain
