Clinton advanced to the "C"
division finals with an exciting 2-1
win over Seaforth.
The game was filled with end to
end fast paced action with each
team playing a good, consistent
game of hockey.
Seaforth got their only goal of
the game with less than two
minutes left in the first period.
Brad Benttenmiller caught Clin-
ton on a line change, started out
in his own end, carried the puck
the length of the ice through the
defense and took a wristshot that
went between the goalie's legs.
The second period was just as
exciting as the first as each team
took turns applying pressure.
Seaforth had a great chance ear-
ly in the second period as Jason
Moore was standing all alone out
in front of the net but couldn't
find the handle.
Bill Tremeer, Seaforth's
goalie, had to come up with a
good pad save on a hard slapshot
from the blueline, as Clinton was
applying the pressure.
Then Seaforth started applying
pressure and Clinton's §oalie
Murray . Townsend had - t4" be
3harp to keep his team in- the .
game.
Clinton got on the scoreboard
when Ricky Pickett stole the
puck at centre, broke in all alone
Aad blasted the puck into the up-,
per right hand corner.
The third period was even more
exciting than the other two as the
action was unbelievable. Clinton
has the first good chance but Bill
Tremeer came up with the best
save of the game when he flung
his glove hand out and came up
with the puck.
Clinton had more good chances
in the first period as they carried
the play but Seaforth started
coming back and had some great
chances of their own halfway
through the last frame.
Clinton got the game winner at
13:13 when Mike Dykstra's boom-
ing slapshot took a big bounce
behind the net and came out to
Norris Flynn. Flynn wrestled
with the puck, found it and drove
it home to give his team a 2-1
lead.
