HOW WATER 11;3 DEIBTG HARNES-

THE COG7NTRY
The four articles in the May Scri-
bner on "Water and rower in Indus-
try' make a remarkably interesting
group. They are all written with a
view not only to show the things
that Modern Energy and Engineering
skill are accomplishing, but as well
to point . out the human element thalt
makes them possible. There is a
romatic and picturesque side to the
subject and both Mr. Brooks and Mr.
Shrared have brought out their as-
pects most happily in their artieles
'The Power Planters' and a "Ditch
in the Desert' Pn Mr. Rushmore's ar-
ticle, "Water Power in Industrial
Life. will be found the account of the
Present application of water power
and an estimate of the available pow-
er for the future when the present
deposits of coal will be exhausted,
Mr. Tomlin s description of the way
the water of the great Catskill -aque-
duct will come across the Hudson
River makes plain to every reader
one of the.. most remarkable achieve-
ments of modern, engineering.
No one can stand beside some great
waterfall or swiftly flowing river
and not get a vivid impression of its
tremendous energy, and it is sometb-
ing of this feeling that one gets in
reading these articles. While hun-
dreds of thousands of horsepower are
being harnessed to provide energy to
drive by transmitted clectricity
wheels miles and miles away tit
same water is being used to fertilize
the desert places, and by doing so is
adding mullions of dollars in value to
the arable lands throughout 'the
great west.

God moves in a mysterious way
His _wonders to perform;
He points his footsteps in the sea,
And rides upon the storm.

And works his sovereign will
Ye fearful saints fresh courage take;
The cloulds ye so mn'oli anent
Are big, with mercy, and shall break

A WONDERFUL DIfSCOVfT; i
An eminent scientist, the other day.
gave his opinion 'ghat the most wotin
deful discovery of recent years wan
the discovery of Zara-Buk justi
think 1 As soon as a single thin lane
er of Zam-Buk is applied to a wound.
or sore, suoh is insured against 'bloody
poison. Not one species of miarabe;
has ben found that Zam-Buk does;
not kill, t , f I
Then again. As soon as Zam-Bu
is applied to a sore, or Out, or to ski
disease it stops the smarting. That
is why children are such friends of
Zara-Buk They care nothing for the':
science ef the thing All they kaovw
is that Zam-Buk stops their pais,:
Mothers should never forget this.
Again. As soon as Zam-Buk is apt
plied to a wound or to a diseased;
part, the cells beneath the skin sone
face are so stimulated that new heavy
tissue is quickly formed This forme
ing a fresh healthy tissue from below;
is Zam-Buk's secret of healing .The
tissue thus formed is worked up to
the surface and literaltly casts off tfio'
diseaend tissue above it, This is why,;
Zam-Buk cures are permanent.
Only the other day Mr. Marsh of
101 Delorimier Ave., Montreal' called.'
upon the Zam-Buk lompany and told
them that for over 25 years be badf
been a martyr to eczema, Ibis hands
wore at one time so covered withf
sons that he triad, to sleep in sloven
Four years ago Zam'I3uk' was intro-
aimed to him and in e few mantic*,
it: cured him. To -day over threw'
years after his cure of a disease lie;
had for twenty-five years—'he is still
cured, and has ;had no trade ort anir
return of the eczema. r ,
