paper drive starts this year
on Saturday, April 16 (the
schedule for the whole
season will be in Coming
Events). Papers should be
bundled and on the curb by
10 a.m. onick-

Books should be boxed
separately for the book sale.
Proceeds from, the paper
drive and book sale are used
to fund community projects.
Recycling can have an
important impact if
everyone participates.

The Goderich and District
After Five Club, sponsored
by the Christian Business
and ' Professional Women,
will hold an Easter Dessert
and Coffee on Tuesday,
March 29 at 7:30 at the
Candlelight Restaurant.
Features will include egg
decorating by Hilda Sam-
pson of Goderich; "egg-
cellent" music by Ron and
Ruth Ashton of Goderich;
and "Sunny Side Up" by
Mara Lee Olson of London
Reservations and can-
cellations are essential and
may be made by phoning

You ,are invited to an
evening of poetry at the
Clinton Branch Library on
March 29. At 7:30 p,m.
George Amabile, a Canadian
poet, will be giving a.reading
of his work.
As well as being a poet,
Mr. Amabile is an Associate
Professor of English and
Creative Writing at the
University of Manitoba . His
work has appeared in 65
periodicals and magazines ..
and A dozen anthologies.
Mr. Amabile is a gifted
performer whose resonant
voice presents his poetry
very effectively in a public
reading He has - iven
•realings o = 'i$ , ' • rk
throughout , North America,
on the CBC and public
television.
Admission is free and
everyone is welcome. The
program has been made
possible through the League
of Canadian Poets and the
Canada Council.

will present "Pig Tales" at
the G.oderich . Branch
Library.
On Friday March 25, Mr.
• l'lagic will present a magic
show at the Seaforth Branch
Library at 11 a.m. and again
at the Clinton Branch
Library at 2 p.m.
These programs • are

Ontario and admission is
free. You can also check with

Seventeen thousand
daffodils will ' be arriving
here tomorrow ( March 24) to
be sold by the Beta Sigma
Phi Sorority for the next °•
three days while quantities
last. All proceeds will go to
the • Canadian Cancer
Society.
Bunches of 10 will sell for
$3 or two bunches for $5 and
can be found at the Suncoast
Mall, Zehrs, Brewer's Retail
and around The Square.
Support cancer research
and treat yourself or sur-
prise someone you love with . -
a pretty yellow bouquet.
The annual Daffodil Tea
held by the Goderich Branch
of the Canadian Cancer
Society • will be Saturday,
April 2 from 2-4:30 p.tn. in St.
George's Anglican Church
hall.

all the latest information on
cancer research and all the
fund-raising news for the
Huron County area.
