Seniors • win pair BY TD The GDCI senior Vikings assured themselves of a playoff berth in Huron -Perth Conference basketball play with a pair of victories last week. Wednesday in Wingham, the Vikings got by the Madill Mustangs 68-64 and Friday, at home, the Vikes defeated the Stratford Central Rams 5941. The 'Vikings' record now is five wins and three losses. They played Monday in Exeter and travel to Listowel today (Wednesday) to complete their regular schedule. Friday the Vikings will play in sudden -death quarter -final playoffs, probably in Seaforth. In VVingham, the Vikings played uninspired basketball for almost three quarters but then came on late in the third quarter and the fourth quarter to pull out the vic- tory. Wingham led 35-22 at half-time but Goderich reduced that lead to 49-47 after three quarters and wound up winning by four points. Don. McCallum and Kevin Adams had 13 points each and Kevin Smith added 10. Scott Bell hooped nine, Chris Pltre had six points and Joe Morrissey and Chris Starkey had give points apiece. Dave More with four and Andrew Telford with three rounded out the Vikings' attack. Ken Atldnson with 17 and Mike Whitcroft with 14 led the Mustangs. The Vikings came up with a strong effort against Stratford Central to win by eight. They held a slim 27-26 lead at the half, stretched It to 42-34 after three quarters end won 5941.
