Pee Wees get ready for playoffs For the last two weeks, the Goderich Lions Pee Wees have been getting ready• for the OMHA playoffs which begin this Saturday at home against Strathroy. In order to do this, they played four games in six nights against the strongest opposition available at this time of year. Last Wednesday, the Lions travelled to Forest to tackle their undefeated Pee Wees and came home with an 8-4 loss. The locals displayed good hustle, determination and team play in this contest where the out- come was in doubt until six minutes Left in the game when the opposition tallied four Unanswered goals for the win. Scott Garrow tallied twice for Goderich 'with single goals going to Larry Lep- pington and Darren Stanbury. Jordan Grasby had.. two assists and John Strickland had one to round out the point getters. The heavy schedule took its toll the next night when St. Marys, for the first time this year, defeated the Lions 7-3. After the Lions had played such a strong game the night before, it was hard to believe the same boys were on the ice forthis contest. The locals trailed 4-3 at the end of the second period but in the third, the bottom completely fell out as St. Marys made a rout of the game. Bill Whetstone, Larry Leppington and Scott Garrow scored Goderich goals with assists to Bill Trebish with two and Greg Alcock and Leppington with one each. With these games behind them now, the Lions are looking forward to their series with Strathroy. enthusiasts battle games Twenty chess enthusiasts stow evenly matched players battled, through 28 games in adacent.'levels are.
