YII3C letigue„ In The juniOr bpy's divi- sion, Steven Austin bowled a 292 high single 'and 662 triple. Jim Keller bowled the high single for the senior boys with a score of 260, and a 624 triple. On December 28, the YBC bowlers were in a family twosome tournament and the results were: bantam boys - first - Lance Langford, second, Steven Lassaline and third Paul Shaddick. In the bantam girls division - first went to Anita McWhin- ney, second, Susanne Pollock, and third, Lora MacInnis. Grant Langlois carne in first for the junior boys, Steven Austin second and Alex Schoemaker third. For the junior girls first went. to Cathy Miller, second Bev Harrison and third Sandy Bell. Paul Good came in first for the senior boys, second went to Dale Jeffrey, and Jim Keller third. All of these bowlers had to bowl with a mother, father, brother, sister, cousin, uncle or aunt. The "Four Steps to Star- dom" is now underway and all bowlers are trying to bowl their verybest tamake, , the "Four Steps to Stardom" team. Bridge scores The Goderich Bridge Club took part in the annual Cana- dian National Team Cham- pionship qualifying round. Four matches of eight boards were played January 11 and also on January 18, with nine teams of four in play. John Donatis and Ray Fisher, Theresa Donatis and Arlene Gibbons came first, winning six matches. Three tied for -second place, winning five matches: -Evelyn Galbraith, Dawna Sproule, Jean Cook and Ver- na Worthy; Mary Donnelly, Eleanor Erskine, * Mary Phillips, and Sandra TurVil 0#1404*lt riick Alilan'ter-ry"-;4. Whateley and Ruth Rosa. Bantams win Two Goderich bantam houseleague teams both won games in exhibition play against Kincardine teams - Friday. Goderich ScotiaBank defeated Kincardine Lions 3- 1 and a second Goderich team defeated Kincardine Sports by the same 3-1 score. • In the first game, the teams played through a _ scoreless first period but Goderich took control of the game with two goals. in the second period by David Duncan and John Stokes. Goderich increased its lead to three midway through the third period on Duncan's second goal of the game. Darren Mowry scored the lone Kincardine, goal with four minutes remaining in the game. In the second game, Kincardine Sports got off to an ;ear* -lead on 'a first period goal by Liam Graham but Goderich tied the game one minute later on Shawn Larder's first goal of the game. The second period was scoreless but Goderich put the game away in the third as Larder scored, two , more goals to boost Goderich into a 3-11ead. Rec hockey Gerry Rosendale, Bill Walters, Ron Corriveau, Mike Lapaine and Phil Paquette all scored singles as the Bedford Flyers defeated Garb and Gear 5-2 on Monday, January 17 during Recreational Hockey League action. Garb and Gear, having a few troubles lately, netted their third loss in a row. Paul Kelly, scored four goals to spark Ultramar to their eighth win in a row as they defeated Sunset 7-5 in action on Wednesday, January 19. In Clinton on January 20, O'Briens easily handled Clere-Vu by a 7-3 margin. Dan Duncan led O'Briens, scoring a hat -trick and adding a single assist. Tim O'Brien scored with about two and a half minutes remaining in the game, to give O'Briens ya'3-3 tie with Garb and Gear on Sunday, January 23. Terry Schoemaker had two goals for Garb and Gear.
