Thanks to a Wintario grant, a new set of draperies will be hanging on the stage for events. The special drapery to meet all fire regulations, etc will cost nearly $6,000. It's part of a plan for upgrading facilities by the board of directors which has already seen nearly $10,000 spent on new wiring. A fund raising drive for a new grand piano is well underway. Still to come is a new lighting control board. Donations to all or any part of this program are gratefully received. Also coming soon will be a new 16 mm movie projector which will be kept in Memorial Hall for use by all community groups. The projector is made possible by a generous grant from the Federal government's New Horizons program under an application by a group of public-spirited seniors. ++-+ The Goderich Minor Hockey Association would like to thank all the parents who donated to Saturday's bake sale and all those people who supported it. A healthy profit was realized. +++ The Huron County Library will receive a $675 Ontario Arts Council grant; the Goderich Recreation and Community Centre Board will receive $750; and Ted Johns of Blyth has been awarded a Playwright Residency Program grant (up to$5,000)• Three hundred and, forty- five arts organizations and 549 individuals received a total of $2,148,399 at the recent Ontario Arts Council meeting.
