ACW meet
St. George's Anglican
Church Women met on Tues-
day, November 23 in the
parish hall. President Alma
Craven opened the meeting
with prayers, followed by
scripture reading by Grace
Hall. The secretary, Rita
Brown and treasurer, Nell
Coated gave their reports.
Everyone was favourably
impressed with the financial
success of the recent Holly
Berry Bazaar and Luncheon.
The president thanked all for
their support and co-
operation.
Lunch was then served by
Bertha Brunk and Doris
Harrison.
The December meeting
will take the form of a pot
luck supper and, in apprecia-
tion of the fine efforts of
many of the ladies of the
church who do not normally
attend the A.C.W. meetings,
but assist at many of the
catering functions, a warm
welcome is extended to them
to join in December 9 at 6
p.m. for Christmas carol
singing and a delicious meal.
Following the meal,'
Christmas treats will be
packed for the sick and shut-
ins of the parish.

Seven Wonders
Of The World
The "pyramids" first,
which in Egypt were laid;
Next "Babylon's garden"
for Amytis made;
Then "Mausolo's tomb" of
affection and guilt;
Fourth, the "temple of
Dian" on Ephesus built;
The "colossus of Rhodes"
cast in brass, to the sun;
Sixth "Jupiter's statue, by
Phidias done;
The "pharos of Egypt"
comes last, we are told.
Or the "palace of Cyrus";
cemented with gold.
