Dear Editor,"Banister'sThe "nister's Study"
article in your issue of
November 24 stated in
paragraph 2: "Jesus said, "I
amthe way." "The way to
eternal life." (Pastor
Bradford continues). A little
further along in the same
paragraph, he quotes: "No
man cometh unto the Father
but by me."
In -..,,paragraph -3 -the
,lib rd?si9izt'Y. £' `dem ', *
Christ) said, "I and the
Father are one." In view of
the fact that Jesus also
stated at John 14:28: "I go
unto the Father; for my
Father is greater than L",
which statement of Jesus
should one accept?
One can easily determine,
when Jesus' prayer,
recorded in John 17 is con-
sidered. Praying for his
disciples, Jesus said:
"Neither pray I for these
alone, but for them also
which , shall believe on me
through their word; THAT
THEY ALL MAY BE ONE;
as thou, Father, art in me,
and I in thee, that THEY ...
may be one, EVEN AS WE
ARE ONE." (John 17:20-22).
First Timothy 2:5 says:
"For there is one God, and
one mediator BETWEEN
God and men, the man Christ
Jesus." At John 17:3 Jesus
stated the "way" to "eternal
life": "And this is life
eternal, that they might
KNOW THEE the only true
God, and Jesus Christ
WHOM THOU HAST
SENT." (see Psalm 83:18)
