The various secretaries
gave reports. An executive
meeting was planned for
Monday, November 29 at 2
pm in the church parlour to
attend to several important
items of business. It was
unanimously agreed to have
a pot -luck luncheon at noon
on Tuesday, December 14.
Business being concluded,
devotions and study were led
ny Mrs. C. Edward's group.
Mrs. Ronald McCallum read
portions of Psalms 77 and 25.
A meditation on "Memory
and Remembrance" con-
cluding with a poem was
given by Mrs. Gervin Young.,
The hymn, "I Will
Remember Thee" was read
as a prayer.
The study dealt with the
pluralistic nature of the
Presbyterian Church in
Canada, active among
groups with two distinct
backgrounds. Oriental
peoples, such as Chinese
immigrants who came to
North America as early as
the middle of the nineteenth
century, have several
flourishing churches.
Korean congregations exist
in most major Canadian
cities. There is an active
Mission among Hindu people
in Toronto under the
direction of the Reverend
Basil Dass.
The Presbyterian
Ukranian, Hungarian and
Italian churches in Canada
trace their origin to early
European reforners, such
as John Hass of Hungary and
Waldo of North Italy.
A closing prayer and
hymn, "Forth in Thy Name
oh Lord I go" was sung and
the Mizpah benediction
brought the meeting to a
conclusion. Refreshments
' and a social hour were en-
joyed by members and their
visitors.
