Group holds successful bazaar
The Willing Workers held
a very successful bake sale
and bazaar on Saturday.
Winners of the draws were
Joanne Whitney, first prize
of a food hamper and Karen
Roberts, second prize of a
food basket.
Twelve tables of players
were at the euchre party held
at Brookside School on Wed-
nesday evening for the Dun-
gannon Senior Citizens. High
man was Tom Culbert. Low
score for the men was Fred
Sheller. High lady was Annie
tanley and Heather Ohm
had the low score.
On Tuesday, November 16
about 50 Dungannon seniors
were guests of the Lucknow
seniors at a smorgasbord
dinner. For the variety enter-
tainment part of the pro-
gram, Joyce Caesar present-
ed reading much to every-

visit with Ken and Sandra
Davidson and family.' While
there, they helped Scot and
Laura celebrate November
birthdays.
A successful Stag and Doe
was held Saturday night at
the Agriculture Hall for
Nancy Errington and John
Hamilton, who are to be
married on Saturday, Nov-
ember 27.
Sympathy is extended to
Bertha Olson and family on
the death of her mother,
Mrs. Hayes. Mrs: Hayes was
91 and had been ill for some
time.
Tramp Champs entertain students

Institute..
The juniors are also hold-
ing practices and their tourn-
ament is December 3 with
the girls playing at Victoria
Public School, Goderich and
Brookside

Young. The senior choir has
been holding their practices
on Thursdays conducted by
Mr. Cameron and Miss
Bode.
Thursday, November 18
the Tramp Champs from
Toronto came to our school.
Throughout the ' show they
used humourous antics and
dialogue to show proper, use
of a trampalene.
Durango Coy, Frank Har-
ris and Monica Jackson,
made up the Tramp Champ
team. Monica showed the
amateur routine for competi-
tion. Durango showed profes-
sional routines he used at a
competition in Washington.
Frank did the routine he used
to become a champion in
1975. To finish off they
showed the students that
even if you have to be careful
on the tramp you can also
have fun. They showed a type
of square dance performed
on the tramp.
Mr. Jewitt attended a prin-
cipal's seminar in Kincardine
from Thursday night until
Saturday.
Two Lucknow area women are winners In this year's "What's Cooking at your Place?"
'contest sponsored by Signal -Star Publishing. Evelyn Riehl of R. 5, Lueknow won first prize In
the contest and receives $100. June Wylds of 11. 3, Luclmow wins the second prize of S60.
Jeannetta DI Carlo of Guelph wins the third prize of $40. Recipes entered in the contest were
published In the contest cook book which was included with list week's editions of the
Lueknow Sentinel, the Goderich Signal -Star and the Clinton News -Record.

Local residents attend dinner
The Ripley Horticultural
Society held their annual pot
luck dinner on Monday at
noon at the, Ripley Legion
Hall. Members who attended NEWS
fromm this area were Dorothy
Finlayson, Marj MacLean
and June Wylds,
Kee Webster, 3E16-6667
Sympathy is extended to
Mrs. Ted Hefferman of Lon-
don in the passing away of
her husband, Ted. Mrs. Hef-
ferman was the former Peg-
gy MacLennan, the only
daughter of D. A. and Dor-
othy MacLennan of Lochalsh.
Mr. Hefferman suffered a
heart attack in the Brace -
bridge area a couple of weeks
LOCHALSH
ago and was hospitalized
there for some time. He was
then allowed to return to his
home in London, where he
passed away very suddenly
on Tuesday. The funeral. was
on Thursday in London.
Carol Finlayson and her
husband, John Balch of Tor-
onto spent the weekend with
Carol's mother, Dorothy Fin-
laywon.
Mr. and. Mrs. Henry Heck-
ler of Greenock visited rec-
ently with Mrs. Beckler's '
uncle, Dan Wylds.
O.F.A. executive to address meeting
Huron County Federation
of Agriculture's monthly
meeting is to be held 'cin
Thursday, December 2 at the
' St. James Separate School in
Seaforth. (Two blocks east of
lights on Highway 8).
The guest speaker for this
meeting is the newest ex
ecufave from O.F.A, Harry.
Zwerver. Mr. Zwerver was
hired as general manager of
the Ontario Federation of
Agriculture.
Mr. Zwerver was born in
the Netherlands in 1942 and
attended highschool in
Brockville. He received his
