recreation programs.
The Goderich Recrea-
tional swim meet is co-
sponsored by the Recreation
Department and Queen
Elizabeth School. It is a
chance for various schools
for mentally disabled
children in the area to get
together for some fun and
competition. The meet will
be held on Friday,,
November 26 at the
Vanastra Recreation Centre.
Three area schools are par-
ticipating: Queen Elizabeth
School, Goderich; Golden ,
Circle School, Wingham;
and Huron Hope School,
Huron Park. There are ap- •
proximately 56 children par-
ticipating.
The program "Four
Season Spectacular" is
designed to give adults with
special needs a night out
once a month. Last month's
Hallowe'en party was a
tremendous success. This
month a skating party is
planned at 'the arena and
then back to the Kinsmen
Centre for hot chocolate and
a snack.
This program would not be
a success without
volunteers.. The Rec. • Depar-t^
ment had some excellent
help from Katimavik and
G.D.C.I. students last month
and hope they will return
again. If anyone else its in-
terested in volunteering,
please call Bob Marshall at
524-2125.
