Round 'n About • from page 8` so early and would go there just to watch the ocean and smell the salt air. I think my sinuses were good THAT year. The Venice fishing pier, stretched so -o -o -o far out above the water and there were always fishermen on it. It was something to watch when the waves came crashing in. They must have really had that pier anchored down. About 9 a.m. the sun was getting pretty warm so I'd got back to the house or to the shopping centre nearby. About a year later, we bought a trailer at.a park almost out of Venice -about 11 miles to Doug's. We were about three miles from Warm Mineral Springs. About a • -'ile or so further, in North was a small ' shopping centre. We were in Venice most of the time where 1 helped Venice Little . Theatre with the make-up and enjoyed at least one day a week at the Venice Art League to which I belonged. All the banks in Venice arid Sarasota had areas for ar- tists to show their work. It was very nice. That whole coast line is an artists' delight and there are dozens of fine teachers. There are art and craft shows going all winter so there is a lot to see and •lots to keep you busy if you want to be. +++ • Starting December 6 until December 11, Family and Children's Services asks you to drop off any toys and children's clothing at the c'qntre in Suncoast Mall. Be generous. Mark these on your calendar, all to take place at Suncoast Mall: Thursday, November 18--Suncoast Mall's 7th anniversary. Have a piece of cake and a cup of coffee at 2 p.m; Saturday,. November 20-a bake sale .at 10 a.m. by the local Figure Skating Club; Friday, November-_26—the lumane-._.. Society will have something interesting; Saturday, Novmeber 27—The Christian Reformed Church ladies will - hald-•af bake -sale at i0 a m Saturday,. December 11 -the' Music Boosters willhold a bake sale at 10 a.m.; December 16 to 24= -gift wrapping will be done by the local clubs of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; and Saturday, December 18-a Laketown Band concert at 2 p.m. Enjoy each day, dull or bright. as it comes.
